"Everyone on both crews was hard working and skilled at their jobs. They were also pleasant. Jim, our sales guy was great, helpful with choosing the new flooring, both wood laminate and carpet, and he kept us well informed of all the steps along the way. We love our floors and would recommend Brooks Flooring to anyone who asks."

"It was a pleasure using EZ Way Carpet Cleaning. Mark was very professional and provided excellent service at our home. Our daughter spilled milk on her carpet and he was able to throughly clean it and remove the lingering odor. Highly recommend using them for your next carpet cleaning service."

"The sales representative was great. The installation was fine and we felt we got a great deal for the price. However, the day of the scheduled installation, we received a phone call stating the installation was cancelled. The customer service rep was rude, blamed us for not reading the contract and accused us of cancelling which was a lie. Had we not already removed everything from our master bedroom and wasn't expecting company for Thanksgiving, we would have found another company. So we had to leave everything out in the hallway, other rooms until they actually installed the carpet 3 days later. What company cancels service the day of the scheduled service?"

They took the time to explain the entire process, including the products they use, which gave me peace of mind. My carpet looks brand new, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

A 65-oz. carpet is good, and in many cases, it indicates a premium carpet. Most carpets for homes should fall in the range of 40 to 60 ounces for face weight. If a carpet has a 65-oz. face weight, it is likely more durable and long-lasting than a similar carpet with a lower face weight. Carpet face weight is just one factor in determining a carpet’s quality.

Carpet installers use furniture sliders or blankets to protect your furniture during the installation process. They handle each piece with care to minimize the risk of damage. Additionally, they may employ techniques such as lifting and shifting furniture rather than dragging it across the floor to prevent scratches or other marks. If you have particularly delicate or heavy items that need to be moved, discuss special handling with the installers beforehand.

Deciding whether to clean or replace your carpet depends on its condition and age. If cleaning no longer resolves issues, it's time to consider a replacement. Key signs that you need to replace your carpet include:

  • Stains that are impossible to remove.

  • A persistent smell that lingers even after cleaning.

  • An increase in allergy symptoms.

  • The age of the carpet. Most manufacturers state that carpets should last about 10 years with proper care.

When cleaning is no longer effective, you should replace the carpet with a new one or consider other flooring options like vinyl or laminate.

A stair runner can be cheaper than a carpet and will definitely save money over the cost of refinishing hardwood floors and stairs. The price depends, however, on the fabric and quality of the runner. A wool stair runner can be more expensive than an inexpensive polyester carpet and vice versa. Keep an eye on your budget, knowing that the higher quality the carpet and the carpet pad, the better the carpet will wear over time.

Carpet density refers to how closely together the fibers of a carpet are stitched into the carpet backing, with values ranging from 1,000 to 7,000. A carpet density value of 3,000 or higher is considered best for most homes, especially in high-traffic areas, such as a living room or dining room. If you’re comparing two carpets made of the same material, a higher carpet density can indicate better durability and longevity. However, carpet density is only one of many factors that can help you determine a carpet’s quality.
