"We had some porch / hand rails that were in need of painting and repair. Anthony and Brandon came through, again! This is the second time in less than a month, that I hired these two young men. They repaired my railings, cleaned them and painted them. They did a fabulous job. I said in a previous review, that I would hire them again. They listen to the project, gave a fair price and arrived on time and completed the work. They clean up behind themselves. Highly recommend giving these guys an opportunity."

"I wish there was a rating higher than 5. He's very honest with people. I would feel comfortable even giving him the key to my house. He's very down to earth. I've already recommended him to other people. -Crystal C."

"They were great to work with and I am more than pleased with the results. They are professional, customer centered and I trusted them to be alone in my house. I could not decide on a color upstairs but I told them what I was looking for and they choose the perfect color. I would definitely hire them again."

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

Professional Christmas decorators offer everything from hanging lights in and outside your home to decorating the tree and adding decor around the house. Decorators may focus on porches, foyers, staircases, mantelpieces, and other similar focal areas.

In the Christmas days of yore, people braved winter weather to staple or tack their Christmas lights onto their rooftops or nearby surfaces like the fascia boards. Problems quickly emerged with that approach. Damage to the roof, even small marks from staples, provides entryways for moisture and similar issues that can hasten roof rot, wear, and associated leaks. Plus, some homes had tough fiber cement boards or other materials where staples and screws didn’t work.

While Christmas lights are a wonderful way to light up your home during the holiday season, they don’t have a long lifespan. Most incandescent Christmas light bulbs are designed to last between 1,000 and 1,500 hours—or about one to three holiday seasons. More durable LED bulbs should last about 10 times as long.

First of all, don’t shop for bargain lights—often, you’ll end up with a faulty or broken strand, full of dead bulbs or less-than-luminous brightness. Choose quality lights that will last you many years—LED lights have been known to last as long as 100,000 hours. Second, plan ahead and purchase lights for next year’s Christmas during this year’s post-holiday sales. Finally, have a vision and a plan—if you know the measurements of your home, including any windows, doors, and outside bushes you wish to light up, you should be able to only purchase the necessary lights and not more than you need.

Considering the pros and cons of hiring a professional holiday light installer can help you decide if it’s right for you. Here are some advantages and disadvantages:

Pros

  • Saves time

  • Reduces stress

  • Produces for custom, high-quality designs

  • Provides better-quality lights

  • Reduces personal safety risks

  • May Include takedown and storage services

Cons

  • More expensive than DIY light installation

  • Less control over the design

  • High demand for installers

  • Contractors may keep the lights and decorations
