"DK's tree service is premium quality. From working with Dmytry on the scope and quote, to the removal of the stump and site cleanup, I am extremely pleased with their work and service. "Carolina Outdoor Care, LLC Wow! We cannot say enough about the professionalism, courtesy, friendliness and competitive pricing! With just a team of 2 we had a 50+ yr old oak tree removed, a dying dogwood, and a huge maple pruned! All completed, stump ground and fully cleaned up in just over a day. Thank you Dennis Mann for a wonderful job, well done. Will definitely recommend and/or use you again!â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸"

Customers say: Quick response

"The crew was on time, very professional, and extremely polite and considerate. They cleaned up afterward and even offered some tips on how to use some pieces of the tree that we wanted to keep as decorations. (We took the advice and were pleased with it.) We recommend them highly. We don't know them personally. Only contact was hiring them through Angie's List. Will use them again if needed."

"When a large branch from my pecan tree in the back yard had broken last week and was hanging over my telephone wire, Josh Moye of Integrity Tree Co. sent two of his workers out to secure the broken branch to the tree so it wouldn't fall before he could get there to remove the 50 foot branch. He arranged this even though he was out of town; his workers came the next day on a Sat. and tied the branch to the tree. The next week, they came and very competently removed the huge branch. I have hired Integrity Tree Co. for three separate tree jobs the last few years, and Josh and his expert tree guys have consistently done a superb job. They get the job done in a short amount of time and they always clean up afterward. They ask you to inspect the area before they leave to be sure you are satisfied with the work. And the charges are always reasonable. I plan to call Josh in the future when I have a tree that needs trimming or removal."

"We couldnâ  t be happier with Ortiz Tree Service! Their estimating process was fast, easy, and fair priced and they scheduled the needed services quickly. The seven-person crew worked together with great coordination and made their work look fun. Jose, the climber, was highly skilled and a joy to watch as he climbed and cut tall trees like he was a high wire artist! Finally, when they completed their work, they cleaned our yard beautifully and left no obvious signs they had been thereâ ¦.other than their excellent work. I highly recommend Ortiz Tree Service!!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

It is possible to cut down a tree on your property yourself, but it is generally not recommended unless specific conditions are met. You should only consider this project if the tree is small (e.g., under 4-5 inches in diameter and short enough that you don't need a ladder to reach the branches), and you are experienced in handling a chainsaw. The tree must also be located far from any power lines, fences, homes, or other structures. Even for small trees, the work can be dangerous, and it's always advisable to have a spotter to ensure the tree falls correctly and no branches fall on you.

For any tree that is large, requires a ladder to access, or is near electrical lines or structures, you should always hire a professional. Attempting to remove a large tree yourself is extremely dangerous, poses a risk of serious injury, and could result in significant damage to your property.

Before any tree removal, it's also important to check your local and state regulations to ensure the tree is not historic or otherwise protected by your city.

It may not be worth it to rake every leaf in your yard, but it’s necessary to remove the majority of leaves to prevent them from smothering grass growth on your lawn. However, raking leaves isn’t your only option for leaf removal. You can remove leaves easily with a leaf blower or compost or mulch them with your lawn mower to repurpose them to help grow your garden or yard.

Late winter is ideal, but if you’re pruning apple trees in the spring, prune them as early as possible in the season. You want to ensure your tree is just creeping out of dormancy and hasn’t started pushing out new growth. If you prune your tree too late into spring, you generally won’t see results until the following year.

That said, there’s no pruning season for unhealthy growth. Remove dead, dying, or diseased branches as soon as you notice them, regardless of the time of year.

Yes, it is highly recommended to remove tree stumps. Leaving them in the ground can lead to several problems, as they are not only unsightly but can also reduce your property's value. Stumps can obstruct landscaping plans, make mowing difficult, and hinder new growth. More importantly, they are prime breeding grounds for pests like termites, ants, and mice, which can spread to your home and cause costly damage to its wood and foundation. Stumps also attract fungi and diseases that can infect other healthy trees and plants in your yard. As a stump decays, it might sprout new, unwanted shoots. While removing a stump is an investment, it prevents these potential issues and enhances the safety, health, and appearance of your landscape.

Most jobs take 2-8 hours, but extensive trimming may take multiple days.
