"They painted the ceiling and walls in open kitchen and den with two coats of paint. These rooms have stain wood trim. Very nice painting without getting paint on trim. They covered all furniture, appliances, counters, doors, windows, and floors to protect from any paint splatter. Professional workers and job. Would definitely hire again."

Small jobs welcome

"Jason and Kenny were awesome. They were very meticulous with excellent attention to detail. They matched paint and stain. They also repaired areas of wall where the previous owner had left significant damage. Their skim coating made the walls look new again. Customer service, communication and reliability were superb. I would definitely recommend for painting and finishing."

"Five Star Painting of Greenville was absolutely the best painting company we've ever hired! They arrived early every day, showed exceptional attention to detail, and were courteous, hard-working, and always professional. We hired them for both interior and exterior painting. We had always heard that painting and distressing brick was a tedious process, but they made it look effortless. Their craftsmanship really shows. After hiring painters for four homes, these are the best by far – we would hire them all over again."

"Fred is the best. He is punctual, respectful, and his work is outstanding. They have painted the interior of my home, exterior metal siding, and stained all of our deckings. As a business owner myself, I appreciate his quality of work and customer service. Splendor is the only painting company I recommend them."

"Anthony repaired and installed doors and drawers and hardware on our kitchen cabinets as well as built shelving and affixed doors to our bathroom vanity. Stays on task and doesn’t mutter under his breath about the challenges he’s facing but rather comes up with solutions. Good worker, good person. (No photo’s as we still need to paint and stain.)"

Painting questions, answered by experts

Stains penetrate wood best when it's cool and dry, so you want to avoid moisture. If the wood is wet upon application, or if it rains before the stain dries, the water will soak into the wood and displace the staining solution. This leads to a flaky and blotchy look, which is the opposite of a sumptuous even coat. Once the stain has fully cured, after about 3 days, rain shouldn’t cause you any problems.

Yes, you can paint galvanized chain link, but the process is a bit more difficult as it requires additional prep work. Before applying the primer and paint, you must remove the original coating from the metal, which can be time-consuming. If the original coating is not removed, the primer and paint will not bond properly and cause peeling over time.

You should repaint your fence every 1 to 3 years, depending on the appearance of wear and tear. Weather and usage will factor into how often you should paint another coat on your fence. If you need to replace a few fence boards or posts, you may want to consider repainting the fence to help protect the rest of the fence as well as the new pieces against damage and deterioration from being exposed to the elements.

Yes, many fence repair services include treatments like sanding, priming, rust prevention, and repainting to protect the fence and restore its appearance. These services help prevent further corrosion and improve aesthetics. However, since not all providers include this, it is best to confirm what is covered before scheduling the repair.

Yes, you can limewash surfaces other than brick. Plaster, stone, stucco, and concrete can all also be limewashed. Any porous surface that will absorb the wash is a good candidate for limewash, although it won’t help much with waterproofing. If you choose to limewash over paint, you’ll need to prep before applying it to avoid a powdery, chalky finish. Shiny surfaces like metal or glass can’t absorb limewash, so it’s not suited for these.
