"I would highly recommend International Green. Mr Fernandez and his team completed a drainage install project, sod removal and reinstall, removed bushes, trimmed bushes and raised/repaired some irrigation sprinkler heads. Extremely hard working and excellent value for work completed. Mr Fernandez responded and provided the quote right away, completed the project quickly and on budget."

"This is the third time I've used Home Advisor and have been very satisfied with the people they've sent to me. The Rosales-Gutierrez are really pros. I expected them to just lay the bricks down, seal them together and leave. Instead Marco designed a herringbone pattern which required a stone cutting saw and very expert planning and cutting. They made a frame in which to set these angled bricks and then sealed the whole thing with a sloping border of cement. It looks terrific ! Far better than I could have imagined! Now I have more room for the patio furniture as the hose caddy is on the large square they built for me. J. Stewart"

"David's crew could not have been better! They moved and transplanted bushes, trees, resodded & regarded our entire back yard. Their work was professionally and beautifully executed! Their prices were very reasonable. I would heartily recommend Sun Pro to anyone who wants the best work done for the best price!"

Patios questions, answered by experts

If you have multiple rooms that could use some organization, home storage solutions like cubbies in your mudroom or built-in shelving can help you move clutter off the floor. Take it one step further by pairing shelves and cabinets with personalized aesthetic touches like woven or canvas lined metal baskets to add another organizational element.

Prefab kits like a small sunroom for around $20,000 or even a basic gazebo roof for as little as $60 can save you big over professional installation. However, you lose the option for customization, and these structures tend not to last nearly as long. As for bigger projects like a deck or patio, you shouldn’t go with the DIY route unless you’re fully prepped with the tools and know-how to get it done right. Mistakes can be frustrating and costly, so choose a pro if you’re looking to eliminate your risk of error.

If you want to hire a professional to build a screened-in porch, a local sunroom or porch contractor is your best bet. If you can't find a local sunroom builder, another option is to consider hiring a general contractor to perform the work.

If you're handy, you may consider building the porch yourself. Before you do so, make sure you understand the local permit requirements and building codes so that you don't have any problems with the safety or structure of the porch.

A sunroom is worth installing on a deck, both for the value and your own enjoyment. A Florida room addition costs between $10,000 and $140,000, so it’s pretty expensive. However, a quality sunroom can offer a 50% return on investment, making your home more sellable. Plus, if it’s a space you and your family enjoy relaxing in daily for years to come, it’s worth the money, time, and effort, even without the added monetary value.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it meets certain criteria. For instance, it must be completely enclosed with solid walls and a roof. It should also have a heating and cooling source similar to the rest of the home. Finally, the porch should have direct access to and from the interior of your house.
