"I was not there during the work; however, the project manager was Great, he provided a daily progress report every evening. Texted photos of the project in different stages of their progress. He alerted me when there was an issue and provided sound recommendations and options. He stayed in budget but did not sacrifice quality and workmenship. General Background: The purpose of the project was leveling the house. The house was built on a crawl space about 30 years ago. Because the house was on a crawl space and the distance from the ground to the house was about two blocks high or about 22 inches high, a tunnel rat could not fit into that space to obtain an accurate assessment of the foundation issue. I know, I was a tunnel rat during one of my tours in Vietnam. Mount Valley Foundation Services project manager could only give me an estimate of the foundation issue. Based on his experience, he provided a very good estimate what was wrong and what it would take to level the house and cost. What that meant was they would have to tear out the subflooring exposing the crawl space area. Every room offered a new surprise; however, the project manager was on target regarding his assessment. "I contacted Roberto on short notice and asked if he could do stonework on the entrance pillars for our entrance. He had a crew the very next day at our place. Three days later, the project was done. The work was magnificent, to say the least. Then, when we needed a foundation for the new well shed, they came again, built the frames and poured concrete without ever moving the new shed, and bolted the shed into the drying concrete. When we needed both ornamental and chain-link fencing installed over two acres, they did it all within a week's time. Gerardo, the brother of Roberto, was in charge and wonderful to work with. Each day the crew showed up on time, worked hard all day, and cleaned up at end of each day; were respectful of property, and very professional, and pleasant to work with. They kept us informed of progress, and what was being done each day. During removal of old piping, they found additional damage behind the pipes that was not visible/identified during initial inspection- were very reasonable with determining the additional cost. They replaced damaged sills, old rotted floor joists, installed permanent support girders with masonry piers, installed a 10ml plastic vapor barrier, and installed multiple foundation vents. We are very satisfied with the results. Our floors are no longer bouncy, and floors feel very sturdy- was a dramatic difference after work completed. The 10 ml plastic Vapor barrier also has prevented that old damp smell inside the house after heavy rains. Was a good experience, and reasonable cost-(initial estimate $10,400, additional work required and we added foundation vent installation was $3800); would hire again."
