"The Carolinas Fireplace technician did a good job in diagnosing and fixing the problem I was having with my gas logs. He also recommended replacing the rocks under the logs which I had him do. He cleaned up the fireplace and glass as part of his service. I would recommend Carolinas Fireplace for this type of service."

"We discovered a gas leak in our home late Sunday evening somewhere behind our kitchen stove. We called Mr. Rooter of Rock Hill, SC and discussed our issue with the Owner Mr. Jason Smith, who immediately sent a technician (Mr. Michael C) to help us with our issue the very next morning at 8:00am sharp. I wasn't sure how difficult it would be or how long it would take to fix our gas leak problem. However, Michael helped us by quickly pinpointing where the leak was located and finding a solution to resolve it. To my surprise, the owner (Mr. Jason Smith) even went out of his way to locate a needed spare part and personally bring it to Michael to finish the job. The professionalism and teamwork this company provides for their customers goes above and beyond. Michael also answered all our questions with detailed explanation to give us peace of mind. Mr. Rooter of Rock Hill is now my go-to for anything remotely plumbing or gas related!!!"

"Very well.  The plumber had to come out twice because he hurt his back and could not crawl under the house to run the gas line.  He completed the toilet and garbage disposal.  Once he returned he completed the gas line and the very next day it passed inspection.  I have more work around the house and intend to continue to use McCoy.

"Williams, Brody: Service Tech I N N E R What a nice, polite young man! Called ahead as expected. Showed us photos of both furnaces opened up, clearly explained the maintenance he performed, and did NOT pressure us into replacing a 27 year old natural gas regulator (which Brody replaced at our request for safety reasons). The discounts for Priority Advantage Members and for Seniors were a wonderful bonus! Thank you so much for sharing this super MJ representative with us! See you again this summer, Brody, for our AC tune ups. - Laura & Mark VanValkenburg, Radbourne Neighborhood, Charlotte"

"Did not go well. The brief plumbing inspection was something my husband and I do anyway. Turned on faucets and looked under cabinet to see if they leaked. The super deal cost $49 because it included a hot water heater flushing, the only real reason we hired them and paid for the “deal.” When time came to flush the heater, the nice young man said apologetically that they don’t usually flush heaters more than 10 years old because the sediment built up in the tank could cause clogs that they would not be liable for. Ours is 15 years old, so no flushing. I asked the young man to call his boss and tell him I didn’t feel I should pay for the flush that didn’t happen and THAT THE AD FOR THE DEAL DID NOT SPECIFY AGE OF TANK COULD PROHIBIT RISKY FLUSHING. The boss said I still needed to pay for the service call so I had to pay $39 for basically nothing since no flushing took place. The “inspection” took less than 10 minutes and as I said, consisted of turning faucet on and looking at pipe to see if it was dripping. I was taken advantage of by the boss. His ad was misleading or I would never have bought the “deal.” Angie’s List, you need to do a better job of vetting your “deals” to see if they are misleading!"

"Nick and Isak did a wonderful job! I haven't had cleaned my dryer vent for about two years and it was super dirty and clogged. They cleaned everything inside and outside, cleaned everything around and even helped with my furniture! They explained all the details and offered a free inspection of my ac unit. They are so nice, polite and responsible, work fast. I would definitely reach out to them again and leave more than 5 stars if possible"

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

All U.S. states require permits for gas grill installation, so you’ll have to get one before you move forward with your project. Permits help ensure that the gas line runs safely to avoid gas leaks and explosions. Gas line permits can usually also only be pulled by certified plumbers, which means you’ll have to hire a professional from the start. The permit for a gas line installation for a gas grill usually costs between $100 and $300. You can contact your installation company or building department for more accurate pricing.

Gas grill installation costs around $540 on average, not including the price of the actual grill, and most homeowners pay between $120 and $1,400. This total will go toward laying down a new gas line, connecting it to your existing gas system, pressure testing the line, and connecting it to your grill. Your total project price will depend on the length of the gas line, whether or not the line needs to be installed underground, and the cost of the permits in your area.

While it’s possible to repair minor grill issues like replacing a burner, more serious issues are clear indicators that you need to replace the entire unit. A few signs that your gas grill may be at the end of its life span and it’s time to consider replacing it include:

  • Rusty or cracked firebox

  • Weak, yellow, or uneven flames

  • Flaking, cracking grates

  • Leaking or cracked propane hoses

  • Failing igniter

  • Heavy buildup of grease

Yes, you can lay a gas grill flat during transportation. Laying it flat can help prevent it from moving around the truck during the journey. It’s still advisable to secure the grill with bungee cords, just in case.

Most likely, a gas plumber would be the best pro for many components in your home, and you might not even realize it. Natural gas plumbers are responsible for maintaining and installing natural gas lines, including installing appliances that use natural gas. These can include:

  • Fireplaces

  • Water heaters

  • Furnaces

  • Hot tubs

  • Clothes dryers

  • Ovens

  • Outdoor grills

Gas plumbers are also the pros that would handle a natural gas leak in your home, so it's essential to know the signs of a gas leak before it becomes a dangerous situation.
