Our gas fireplace did not start the first time we tried to use it this year. We called around and everyone was around 4 weeks out to schedule service so we decided to give these guys a chance. Our mistake. First repairman that they sent came out and spent about 20 minutes fiddling around until he said he had never worked with this brand and would have to have someone else come out with him. A little over a week later he came back with another repairman who took about an hour to say that it needed a new electronic gas valve. They called over a week later and said that they had found the valve and would be ordering it. I found the valve online within seconds so I am not sure why it took them so long before they even ordered the part. Another 10 days or so the first guy who had never worked on this brand comes back by himself to install the part. I am not happy that they have sent someone so inexperienced but am willing to give him a chance. He works on it for quite a while, unable to start it for quite awhile after he has installed the new part. Finally got it started although to be honest I was not there when he did. He may have just used a lighter. Pay the bill and the next morning it will not start. We are out $270 and are back to where we were before we called them. I am sure they would have come out again to troubleshoot the process but our confidence in this company was at such a low point we did not want them coming back. I would have given them an F but upgraded to a D because we didn’t give them a chance to fix the problem. We are calling a company that just does this kind of work, which is what we should have done in the beginning.

Dustin said he was getting 6-22 ppm CO2 readings after getting it running. He said he wasn't comfortable with these readings and tried to sell me a new unit. I told him this was a want, not a need, and I didn't have the money, living on a fixed income. When it didn't work the next day, I called and Dustin was supposed to call me back. He hasn't. Dustin was a pleasant worker. I explained that the CO2 readings didn't bother me as I only run the fireplace for 5 min. and then shut it off and walk away. I might use it twice a day to warm my bum. Dustin said my unit was 12 years old and should be replaced. I rated them down because he never called back.

First we had Wayne come to evaluate our log system in our ventless gas fireplace. He identified a small gas leak because the valve was broken. He explained our options and offered pricing on all of them. We determined that we wanted to replace the entire log set. They were able to procure the new set quickly and Dustin installed it. Dustin was prompt, polite, professional and explained everything we needed to know about the product and use of the fireplace. Highly recommended!!

The service professional was wonderful. He was very thoughtful to use gloves,mask, and shoe covers upon entering home during this pandemic. I had trouble finding someone to work on my gas log fireplace. This company reached out to me and did the work next day.

Dustin came to our home as scheduled, checked for issues and quickly and efficiently disassembled, cleaned and reassembled the fireplace. He advised removing a few logs from a previous set as they were holding odors. I was impressed with his friendliness and how much he knew about our issue. Dustin is a pleasure to work with and I recommend him wholeheartedly.

The repair happened in a timely matter. Dustin was the service technician that came out and he diligently tested all aspects of the fireplace and attempted to fix the control box/remote, but could not. He ordered parts and then was back in just a couple of days to install. He was professional, did quality work and left the work space clean. Would definitely recommend Mechanical Doctor.

COLD, RAINY DAY AND GAS LOGS IN FIREPLACE WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. SOME OF THE LARGER COMPANIES HAD A WAIT LIST OF SEVERAL WEEKS. NORMALLY, I WOULD PREFER TO WAIT BUT THE WEATHER HAD ME READY TO GET IT FIXED. So I called Mechanical Doctor, and boy I am glad I did. Dustin came out quickly, analyzed the problem, and showed me what needed to be done. He professionally gave me a price and we agreed to price and scope. He serviced the logs and replaced the pilot assembly. Dustin was quick and friendly. He wanted to do excellent work and leave it clean and better than he found it. He did both. My fireplace looks great and the price he quoted was better than the others that wanted me to wait along time. Bigger is not always better, and this is a good example. Thanks Dustin

I had a fabulous experience with Mechanical Doctors from the moment I called them. The person who answered the phone was cheerful yet professional. She helped me book the first available time and day that would work with my calendar as well and shared the cost of a service call. The day of the appointment, the service technician had an unexpectedly difficult service call immediately before me, and as a result he was running quite late. The office called me twice to check in, give me an update, and confirm the time would still work for me. When he arrived, Mark was pleasant, professional, and once again apologized for the delay. He quickly diagnosed the problem, which was a user error (oh my!) but didn't make me feel stupid at all. Instead, he assured me it happens all the time. Everything was corrected in 5 minutes and he didn't charge me for the service call. I would definitely do business with Mechanical Doctor whenever I need their service!

Mechanical Doctor did an excellent job. They answered the phone quickly when we called them. They called back to confirm details of the problem and our contact information. Mark came out the next day and diagnosed the problem. He had to order a part before he could fix it. Dustin came out a couple of days later to complete the repair. Both gentlemen were very police, friendly and knowledgeable. Our fireplace is fixed and they cleaned up everything before they left. We were very impressed with the service from everyone at the company and will highly recommend them to our friends and family.

My gas logs had stopped working. Dustin came within the appointed time frame and performed a thorough cleaning. The logs now work very well. Dustin was very professional throughout the entire visit.

Dustin was great. He took his time and checked everything. He told us one of the things were the logs were put in wrong. It now works wonderfully and looks nothing like the logs did before. I plan on having them back out to do annual check up every year. Would highly recommend.

The crew were here on time when they said they would be and called in advance so I knew they were on their way. It was a full day's work and they made sure every part of it was installed and working properly. New Nest thermostats were installed and explained to us. When they were done, everything was cleaned up like they hadn't been here. You couldn't ask for a smoother installation with a great crew. Thank you.
