"Mcelveen's Roofing repaired a leaking asphalt shingle roof for me. They replaced the rotted particle board base boards, installed the moisture barrier, and installed new shingles on about a 3 foot by 6 foot area on my roof in the area of a plumbing vent. They also installed new boots on two of the plumbing vents for the house. They arrived on time and finished the job in only three hours. They also did a great job cleaning up the work area upon completion. They even put a mat under their truck to keep any oil leaking from the truck from getting on the concrete driveway."

Plaster Repair questions, answered by experts

If the holes in the plaster are small, you can fill them with layers of patching plaster until they’re filled. After it dries, you can sand the plaster and paint over it. If the hole is much larger, consider using bonding plaster first and then a layer of patching plaster, completing the process with sanding and a layer of paint.

Ensures structural integrity and aesthetic consistency with proper materials and techniques.

Plaster can be a difficult DIY to master, especially if you plan to plaster an entire room, rather than patch a small area. Before you begin a plaster DIY project, you need to know which tools and type of plaster to use. It's also important to know how to prepare the surface and apply the plaster for a smooth finish. If that all sounds like a lot of work, you may prefer hiring a local plaster repair contractor to do the job.

Plastering lasts for around 15 to 20 years without needing repairs or maintenance in most cases, and with proper upkeep, plastering can last a lifetime—sometimes more than 100 years. Plaster repair costs between $1 and $3 per square foot, and you may need these services once every 15 to 20 years or so unless you have a harsh climate where humidity changes are a constant issue. You can also opt to skim-coat plaster for between $0.90 and $1.30 per square foot, which may serve you better in the long run.

How long it takes to repair a ceiling depends on the extent of the damage. Patching a small hole might only take a few minutes, while repairing a water-damaged section of the ceiling could take hours. If there are structural issues, expect your ceiling repair to take several days or longer.
