"I recently hired Hunter with Foothills Plumbing and Construction to remodel my bathroom, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! The project involved relocating plumbing and installing brand-new fixtures, and their expertise was evident every step of the way. From the start, they were incredibly prompt, showing up exactly when they said they would and staying on schedule throughout the job. They took the time to explain the process clearly, helping me understand what was involved with moving pipes and ensuring everything would be installed safely and efficiently. Their knowledge truly set them apart. They offered valuable suggestions to improve the layout of the space, and the finished bathroom is both functional and beautiful. Every detail, from the pipework to the fixtures, was done with precision and care. The team was professional, courteous, and cleaned up thoroughly after each day. I highly recommend Hunter with Foothills Plumbing and Construction to anyone looking for a reliable, skilled plumber for a major project. I’ll definitely call them again for future plumbing needs!"

"I had a water heater emergency on a Saturday, and my four girls were frantic with no hot water.  I called several plumbers who were not able to come out on the weekend or wanted way too much money.  When I called Steve at All about Plumbing, he was very nice and was able to come out the sameday.  He did not charge an estimate fee, gave me an estimate to fix the problem.  He installed a new heater that night and we were back in business and ready for Sunday morning showers before church.  He promised to be there at a certain time and was.  He was professional.  I would recommend to my friends and family."

"I have never worked with more intelligent, professional, and kind experts. He communicated beautifully and always answered questions with knowledge and ease. I tried for 4 years to find a plumber that would fix a horrible problem that a terrible contractor created and this was the first plumber that knew exactly what to do. I am so grateful and impressed. I trust them and will continue to call on only them for plumbing. Thank you!!!"

"I had an excellent experience with Polar Plumbing and would confidently recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services. From the first phone call to the completion of the job, their team was courteous, efficient, and highly professional. The technician arrived right on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, and clearly explained what needed to be done. I appreciated the honest communication and the transparent pricing?there were no surprises, and the work was completed within the estimated time frame. The quality of the workmanship was outstanding. Everything was done neatly and with care, and the plumber made sure everything was working perfectly before leaving. They even cleaned up thoroughly afterward, which I really appreciated. It?s rare to find a company that combines reliability, skill, and customer service so seamlessly, but Polar Plumbing absolutely provided."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

A major mistake during plumbing projects in Inman is skipping mandatory permits for water heater replacements. Homeowners also confuse city sewer connections with private septic systems, leading to improper modifications. Ignoring corroded galvanized pipes in older homes causes significant water pressure issues. Furthermore, failing to insulate exposed pipes in crawl spaces leads to burst lines during winter freezes. Always hire licensed professionals to ensure safe, code-compliant results.

Helpful?

PEX is the superior choice for plumbing supply lines in Inman due to its excellent freeze resistance. PVC serves as the standard, highly reliable material for all drain and vent lines. Because local homes face high humidity and freezing temperatures, you must apply foam pipe insulation to any lines in unconditioned crawl spaces. Choose corrosion-resistant fittings to combat moisture, and test well water chemistry before selecting materials.

Helpful?

The climate in Upstate SC severely impacts plumbing systems. Periodic hard winter freezes easily burst exposed pipes in unheated garages and crawl spaces. You must winterize outdoor irrigation systems and insulate all exposed lines. Additionally, high summer humidity accelerates corrosion on metal fittings in basements. Schedule outdoor or crawl space projects in the fall before freezing temperatures arrive, as spring and summer bring longer permit processing times.

Helpful?

Cosmetic plumbing updates like replacing a faucet require no permits in Inman if you keep existing supply and drain lines. Conversely, functional upgrades involving new lines or water heater replacements strictly require county permits and inspections. Cosmetic work in older homes easily uncovers failing galvanized pipes behind the walls. Always secure separate permits for any functional septic system repairs to avoid serious project delays and ensure a safe home.

Helpful?

Before starting plumbing projects in Inman, contact your county permit office to confirm requirements for your specific project. South Carolina requires licensed professionals for anything beyond basic repairs. Verify whether your home connects to a local water district or a private well, and check if you have municipal sewer or a septic system. Finally, inspect older homes for galvanized pipes, which require replacing before connecting new lines.
