"I am so grateful for Angie's List in this case because I called this plumber based on the reviews here. He took time to answer my many questions (I was considering all sorts of hot water heaters--tankless, traditional, hybrid, etc.--in the end, we went with a traditional one.) His price was better than competitors and he was responsive, professional, and did a fabulous job! Pleasant to work with and efficient."

"These guys came when they said they would, looked everything over completely before giving me a price to do the work. They did the work quickly and made repairs over and above what was needed because they felt it was necessary and didn't change the price quoted. They cleaned the site up completely and were exceptionally friendly. I highly recommend these plumbers to anyone."

"Got a call from the water company that their meter reader had found a leak while doing the monthly check (and had turned off the water to prevent damage to the yard).  I called Benjamin Franklin plumbing at 3:00pm and they had someone out at 4:30.  The repairman had to dig a 2x2x2 hole at the meter to gain access to replace a section of PVC pipe and a coupling.  The water was back on by 6:00.  The repair was done professionally.  Very satisfied and I'll use them in the future.

Septic Repairs
Holy cow!! We found it!
Almost looks like we didn't just install 400' of 4'' Storm Drainage to save the septic system from near total failure.

Sometimes excessive storm water can wreak havoc on a septic system and cause the system to break down prematurely.
The septic system was drowning, we suggested diverting the storm water to protect the septic tank & field lines. Problem Solved.

"Water pressure was too high causing an awful noise when toilets flushed and faucets running. Called Angi's list t I find a plumber for an estimate. 5 choices came up. Johnson Brothers was the first on the list. Called and Jacob responded immediately. He was able to come over, access the issue and repair all in the same day. Some sort of pressure valve was needed. Jacob explained every step, as if he were a surgeon explaining the procedure. He checked for leaks, there were none. Finished the procedure and no more awful noise. Plumbing issue solved all in a few hours. Very professional I every way. Highly recommend as far as work done right. Price was reasonable I suppose. But worth the no worry mentality."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

In Greer, plumbing projects can impact electrical wiring, HVAC ductwork, or even foundation elements, especially in older homes or compact layouts. Installing new fixtures may require additional circuits, while pipe rerouting could affect structural supports. If your plumbing runs through crawl spaces or shared utility areas, a professional assessment can help identify potential conflicts and prevent disruptions to other home systems.

Helpful?

In Greer, watch for water with a metallic taste, low water pressure, or recurring leaks, as these often signal aging pipes or poor pipe replacement. Stains near crawl spaces, loose joints, or visible cracks in PVC are also warning signs. If plumbing was installed without proper permits or isn’t up to current code, it’s wise to have an emergency plumber assess the system for hidden issues.

Helpful?

In Greer, hidden expenses can arise from modifying crawl space access, repairing walls or floors after pipe replacement, or addressing foundation shifts caused by clay soil. Permit and inspection fees, code-required upgrades, and adjustments to water meters or electrical systems may also be needed. Additional costs often come from tree root removal, soil stabilization, or restoring landscaping after underground plumbing work.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Greer should prioritize a water heater inspection, a sewer line camera check for root intrusion, and a water pressure test. Upgrading old galvanized pipes, installing a water softener to address hard water, and adding emergency shut-off valves are smart early steps. Consider whole-house water filtration and improving crawl space drainage to prevent future plumbing emergencies and protect your investment.

Helpful?

For a successful plumbing project in Greer, confirm all permit requirements and schedule inspections early. Account for the area’s clay soil, which can affect pipe installation, and plan around seasonal weather. Mark all utility lines before digging. Choose a local plumber familiar with Greer’s older homes and common pipe materials, and allow extra time for inspections, especially if your home has a crawl space.
