"I had wires crossed in a 1/2 bath (someone else had put my bathroom fan in)I called Mr. Barnhill and he offered to come over immediately.  I advised him it wasn't an emergency so when he could fit me in his schedule would be fine.  He got to my house early, went right to work and took care of it quickly!!  He obviously knew what he was doing.  He is friendly and a very pleasant man.  I got a couple of quotes from him for a ceiling fan installation and other minor electrical work.  As a matter of fact a friend needs a ceiling fan installed so I plan on giving her his number.

"Luke called immediately after request to schedule. Timing worked out perfectly - the next 2 days. He arrived on time, painted 2 separate stairways with very high walls on day 1 and then day 2 painted our living room very high ceilings. Overall, could not have had a better experience. Will definitely hire again and highly recommend."

"Chris called me right away after my post on Home Advisor and was very professional on the phone. I needed two ceiling lights changed in a cathedral ceiling. He was here in a couple days and even changed the ceiling fan on top of the two lights for me. He was so knowledgeable and professional. A nice person who takes pride in his work and cares about the customer. Good work ethics which you don’t see that often anymore. Will use and recommend this company to everyone! Prices were definitely fair for the amount of time it took. Also he is very articulate in the work he does. Thank you Chris! It was a pleasure doing business with you."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

You should generally avoid using WD-40 on a ceiling fan. While it might quiet a squeak temporarily, it is primarily an anti-corrosion and water displacement agent, not a true lubricant, and can damage the fan's components over time. Most modern ceiling fans have sealed bearings and do not require oiling, so a squeak may indicate another issue. For fans that do require lubrication, it is better to use a light machine oil, 30-weight motor oil, or a lubricant specifically designed for ceiling fans.

Whole-house fans cost significantly less to run than a window AC unit. You'll pay an average of $0.01 and $0.05 per hour to run a whole-house fan compared to $0.06 to $0.88 per hour for the cost to run a window AC, depending on its size and the size of your home. They also use far less electricity than traditional central AC units.

There are many types of ceiling fans, each with specific features and advantages. Standard ceiling fans are a traditional choice suitable for most spaces and can be made from materials like plastic, wood, metal, or fiberboard. For rooms with low ceilings, low-profile fans are a better fit. Other specialized types include smart fans, which you can control with a smartphone or voice commands, and dual-motor fans that provide increased airflow in multiple directions. For energy savings, Energy-Star certified fans can be up to 60% more efficient than standard models, helping to lower your utility bill. You can also find fans with built-in lights, fans with retractable blades, and large ceiling fans designed for spacious rooms with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high.

The more surface area that a ceiling fan blade has, the more effective it will be at producing airflow. Therefore, a longer ceiling fan blade is the better option if you’re looking for more wind. However, a longer blade will consume more energy than a shorter blade.

Most people describe the sound of an unbalanced ceiling fan as a buzzing or grinding noise. This is caused by the parts of the fan rubbing or rattling against each other as the blades spin. However, a wobbling fan can also make squeaking, rattling, or thumping sounds, depending on the severity of the balance issue.
