"Mgr Jeffrey offered free estimate next morning. Had two outdoor hoses were unable remove from hose bibs; were seized on. afraid needed new hose bibs! BG sent tech Joseph Lopez who was professional, knowledgeable & personable. After assessing bibs advised cost for removal of hoses and/or to install new bibs. i gave the go ahead to do his best to remove hoses! noted he consciously covered his shoes when coming through home from front to back yards. He patiently & carefully tried a few removal methods including the spray/wrench we had tried. He was finally able to remove them by carefully using a hack saw! He also installed a new hose connecting part on ea bib w/new threads that are guaranteed 2 yrs. It was third of the price new bibs would have cost! We so appreciated the extra conscientious efforts Joseph Lopez made to repair the hose bibs giving us excellent results at economical price! Thank you! again, we are very happy satisfied customers of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing"

"They completed the work for me within a few days of the initial phone call. The plumber was very knowledgeable and professional. As well, the quote for the work was very reasonable and lower than the other quotes that I received. I will definitely make Vigilant Plumbing my "hometown plumber" whenever I need those types of services."

"I needed my whole home repiped (old pipes leaking and not up to code). Easy had given us a great quote and guaranteed his work for a year, back when we moved in to our "fixer upper" home in July 2024. Well, after this snow storm I had heard a leak and was afraid the pipe had frozen. Easy came out the next day and discovered a T pipe leaking that just wasn't secured right. The man stood by his statement, Easy had it fixed quick at no cost to me. I have also had him come out to inspect the Well on my property and gave me a great quote for getting things cleaned up and running smooth. We will be using G.L. Ward plumbing for all of our future needs!!! I couldn't recommend a more honest and fair (family owned, local) company. Thank you for all you do!!!"

Small jobs welcome

"Murrills Inlet Pipe Dream Plumbing exceeded my expections. He arrived on scheduled date, arrived early, clearly skilled and knowledgeable of what needed to be done. He replaced a hot water tank, expansion tank and fixed the master shutoff valve plumbing. He also reseated tha master bath toilet. This was a bigger job due to original install years ago was done incorrectly. He is neat and cleaned up after completing the work. Clearly the kind of professionalism and service you woul want. Highly reccommend."

"I manage an apartment complex, so the plumbing needs we encounter are varied. However, from my introduction to this firm in 2020, they have become my salvation. No matter the problem, after hours emergency, this company responds, and responds with clear competency, expertise and excellency in the work product. I would unequivocally recommend them for any position they are seeking."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

With a one-way cleanout, you can access your sewer line from one direction. Depending on the way it curves, a plumber can either access the side of the pipe that goes into your home or the side that goes to your yard. On the other hand, two-way cleanouts allow pros to access both sides of the sewer line, thanks to their dual-pipe design (they’re usually U-shaped).

No, you should not see water in a sewer cleanout. If you do, it could indicate that you have a block or leak in your main sewer line—which can cause sewage to back up inside your home and potentially flood your yard. Your best bet is to call a local sewer cleaner if you notice any water or sewage around your cleanout.

A two-way cleanout can help if there’s already a clog, but the best strategy to prevent one is by not rinsing grease, oil, or fat down your drains, not flushing or rinsing coffee grounds or egg shells down your drains, flushing only human waste and toilet paper (so no diapers, period products, bathroom wipes, or paper towels), and using drain guards on all of your drains.

Cat pee has a strong ammonia-like smell, so if you smell cat pee but don’t have a cat or don’t suspect your cat has any accidents, there could be other issues at hand. Aside from pet urine, your house may smell like cat pee from leaking freon from an old fridge, mold, spilled cleaning supplies, or even outside odors from nearby farms.

An active cleaning agent and a drain snake is the best way to clean a main sewer line. You can purchase a regular or enzyme drain cleaner or make a DIY drain cleaner with baking soda. Use your chosen solution at least once a month or as needed to keep your sewer line clear.
