"My original 20 year old laminated flooring was worn out. I was originally told that it could be refinished 1 time. I contacted several flooring companies and they wouldnâ t do it. I contacted Flooring International . Tony came out and said it could be refinished. He gave me a reasonable price. Boy am I glad I hired them. The floors came out perfect. We changed the color and finish. They look so much better than the original finish. I also had him put down a matching floor in my bedroom. I highly recommend Flooring International!!!"

Customers say: True professional

"Nation Hardwood Floors did an incredible job on our new floors! We worked with Nunes, who did a great job explaining the process to us and what would be done. They were able to do our whole upstairs (three bedrooms and closets) in about 1.5 days. He probably would have been done even sooner but we had structural issues prior with the home (nothing to do with Nation Hardwood Floors) that needed to be corrected before flooring went into the primary bedroom. Nunes was also able to help connect us with someone who could help us in this area as well! We love our new floors and will have them back for other flooring projects in the future! The whole process was smooth and stress free."

"I rarely take the time to review anything but Bruza Liquid Floors just finished my garage floor and did an outstanding job! The amount of prep work they completed, their friendliness, attention to detail, and final product was more than I ever expected. If you want to have the garage floor that you enjoy and that will also impress your neighbors hire these guys. While they were finishing up the job two people viewed my garage floor and wanted their company info. I highly recommend Bruza Liquid Floors!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Outdoor kitchens get wet and are sometimes next to pools. To avoid accidents, go with a non-slip material like concrete, brick, or rubber. Avoid materials like ceramic and porcelain, as they are known to be quite slippery. Wood and composite flooring can be slippery if untreated, so make sure to stain or finish these materials.

Few home upgrades add resale value above their installation cost, including terrazzo floors. However, they are still a good option if you like the look. While terrazzo may be expensive, it has a solid return on investment of around 55% to 70%. The durability and low maintenance requirements of terrazzo can be appealing selling points, as many buyers will appreciate flooring that can last 40 to 100 years.

Popular features homeowners add to their game rooms include pool or ping pong tables, arcade machines, home theater systems, gaming consoles, custom lighting, and built-in storage. Many homeowners also add soundproofing, mini-fridges, or wet bars for added comfort and entertainment value. These features will increase your total investment, but make your game room more enjoyable and functional.

Because cork flooring has a low-impact feel and is water-resistant, it is a good choice for kitchens. It makes standing to chop vegetables and stir soup for long periods of time feel much easier on your feet and legs. But keep in mind that spills can cause cork to swell if they sit for too long, so if you’re a messy home chef, keep plenty of towels nearby to keep your cork floors in good condition.

If you also need to know how to fill the gap between the floor and the baseboard, it's best to use a flexible, paintable latex caulk. Clean the area thoroughly to remove dust and debris. Then, apply a smooth bead of caulk along the gap using a caulking gun, and use a caulk-smoothing tool to press and smooth it into place. If the gap is large, you may need to insert backer rod, such as a foam filler, before caulking. Once dry, paint the caulk to match the baseboard for a clean, seamless look.
