Small jobs welcome

"Jason cares about my yard-he made a number of great suggestions on how to get back in control. My job was very overgrown but he explained that if we break it down in phases,we can be successful. I've had many unfortunate experiences with landscapers in SC but I think Jason is a keeper."

"Derek and crew built a 125 foot by 5 foot retaining wall on the large slope in my back yard. It turned out incredible!! They used 15 pallets of block, tons of stone, truckloads of dirt and had the proper equipment to dig, haul, level, grade, etc. Derek has a great eye for visualization, ideas, and creativity. In addition to the retaining wall, Capital City Patios resolved my drainage problems with French drains in the front of the house and underground drainage from the downspouts. Drainage was also provided behind the retaining wall. Derek personally built block steps from the driveway down to the back yard. The yard was leveled, irrigation was added to the existing system, sod was laid and dozens of bushes and trees planted. The final step was adding outdoor lighting. It was a large project with a lot of hand labor and i could not be happier with the transformation."

"I think they treated the wrong lawn. The note they sent me via text message referenced trees and shrubs in my yard, I have none. They also did not leave a yard marker showing they had been there. Otherwise, this would have been a 5 star review."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Clearing 1 acre of land takes anywhere from two to 12 hours for a professional team, depending on what they’re removing. The amount of time needed to complete the project depends on the size of your acreage, the land’s condition, the size of the crew completing the work, and what type of equipment they’re using. Smaller projects normally take a few hours, while larger projects may require one or two full workdays.

Several tools exist that can help remove unwanted grass. The one you choose depends greatly on how much you need to remove and how hard you'd like to work. A sod or turf cutter is the fastest method while using a shovel is labor-intensive and much slower. You may also need a garden rake, tiller, and wheelbarrow.

Trimming or removing trees promotes safety, prevents interference with structures or utilities, and enhances the aesthetic and health of the property landscape.

No, cleaning dog poop off artificial grass is straightforward. First, you’ll remove all the solid poop and place it in a bag. Then, you’ll use a homemade liquid dish soap and water solution to help wash and sanitize the area. Finally, you’ll hose the area with water to remove the soapy solution and odor.

The time it takes for leaves to decompose can range from six months to three years. Key factors influencing the decomposition rate include water, sunlight, and heat, so local weather conditions play a significant role. Decomposition will take longer for thick, matted layers of leaves. To speed up the process, you can mulch the leaves, as smaller pieces break down faster. Spreading large piles into thinner layers to increase exposure to sunlight and water also helps accelerate decomposition.
