"Stuart showed up when he said he would.  Went on the roof... came back down - reported what needed to be done.  Replaced the rubber thingys that day.  all was good.  Thank You  (Now with that said.. I'm waiting for a really good rain to make sure the leak is fixed but... I'm pretty confident it will be.)

"Their representative inspected my roof and supposedly found hail damage. But the State Farm rep refuted that claim saying it was nail holes and heat blisters causing my roof to leak. They refused the claim and will not pay."

"I liked the roofer?s professionalism and the quality of his work. He came and fixed the problem even though we never told him exactly what we needed. He knew about the problem based on his assessment of the roof. He knew what needed to be done and didn?t try to replace the whole roof. His service guy didn?t necessarily see what the issue was and ultimately the owner of the company came out about 30 minutes later. So the owner knew exactly what needed to be done based on his experience and addressed those issues. He was prompt and we would definitely use his services in the future too."

"RILI Contractors did an outstanding job updating our ancient, outdated kitchen cabinets by refacing and installing new veneer to our existing cabinets. They were very thorough with sanding smooth the old surfaces before installation of new material. They put up plastic to protect surrounding rooms and areas from dust and were very punctual every day on the job, arriving around 9:30 am. Very hard working and professional in appearance and attitude. We would definitely recomend them to anyone looking to update cabinets and look forward to hiring them for other jobs in the future as they offer a variety of home improvement services.

Skylights questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can add blinds or shades to both roof windows and skylights, but roof windows tend to have more options available. Retractable skylight shades are popular on both options for added privacy, light control, and heat reduction, although they’re more expensive than manually-operated blinds or shades. If you have a roof window or skylight set in a high ceiling, a motorized or solar-powered skylight window covering is probably your best bet.

When planning out skylights and deciding how big they should be, it's important to look at the dimensions of the interior space. In addition to changing a room aesthetically, skylights influence the illumination and temperature of the space below. The U.S. Department of Energy recommends that a skylight’s size should never be more than 5% of the floor area in rooms with many windows.

Local window and door specialists, glaziers, and roofers should all install skylights. You can also do an internet search to find companies that specialize in skylight installation near you. Keep in mind that skylight installation is very complex and can be dangerous without the proper tools and safety precautions, so we don’t recommend this as a DIY project.

Prevent future skylight issues by conducting regular inspections, ensuring gutters are clean to prevent water pooling, applying protective sealants periodically, and trimming overhanging branches that might cause physical damage to the skylight.

Costs depend on skylight size, roof type, and additional features like blinds or tinting.
