"Shepard fencing installed about two acres of board fencing around our new home. They thought ahead and made special â cut-outsâ on the gates for ease of opening, their work is beautiful- all boards lined up, their suggestions for black hardware were spot on and they arrived when they said they would and finished as planned. I even made two significant changes: they told me how much it would cost and did the changes with no issues. Weâ ll be using them again for livestock fencing. We would definitely recommend them!"

"If you're looking for good honest folks who truly go the extra mile for their customers, here they are. These guys were the best. The job was for about 170 feet of dog-eared fence. They had the fence up in 1 day. No shortcuts were taken. Absolutely crazy the work ethic on these guys. It is extremely uncommon to see nowadays. They even cut up some trees for us at no charge. Very knowledgable and can answer pretty much anything you need. Highly recommend to anyone looking for fence work done quickly an efficiently, without compromising quality. Guaranteed to last many years, thank you both!"

"I had the pleasure of recently working with C&C property care … I was in desperate need of replacing a section of my fence as well as a new gate . Their work was outstanding, professional, courteous, and extremely reasonable…. Don’t hesitate to hire this company.. it’s so nice looking out in my yard again and seeing a beautiful new fence . Fencing questions, answered by experts

The recommended height for a garden fence depends on its primary purpose. For pest control, the necessary height varies by animal. To keep out small pests like rabbits, a fence should be at least two to three feet tall. If you live in an area with deer, you will need a much taller fence, at least five feet high, to prevent them from jumping over. If the main goal is privacy, the fence should be at least seven feet tall. For purely decorative fences, the height is a matter of personal preference.

You can DIY a stockade fence installation, but prepare to put in some good sweat equity. For the best results, carefully plan the exact location of your fence before you break ground. In particular, carefully map out your post locations before setting them in concrete. Be sure to call your local utility company before digging to avoid damaging underground wiring and causing severe injury.

On the other hand, installing stockade fencing on your own might sound too overwhelming. It’s certainly time-consuming and labor-intensive. Besides the hard work, you must install it properly to avoid gaps. Unless you’re confident you can get the job done right, hiring a privacy fence installer near you is the way to go.

The maximum recommended slope on which you can build a racked or stepped fence is 45 degrees. After that, construction becomes quite tricky and may require the use of retaining walls or terraces to make the fenced area flatter.

Armadillos are attracted to water, so a leaky irrigation system or an overwatered lawn can encourage them to move in. They especially like wet areas where they can burrow and loose soil where they can dig for grubs. They are also attracted to dense ground cover, where they can often find food sources.

Knowing how close to the property line you can build a fence is an important planning step in your fence installation project. In many U.S. states, you are allowed to build a fence directly on the property line as long as your neighbor signs off on the plan. But check with your state government because some states and municipalities require a couple of inches before your property line.
