"They had the system that both me and my wife liked. I wanted the hard water removed and she didn't want a water softener so the filtered water did both. Whole house garage and out buildings will now have filtered water"

Customers say: Quick response

"These guys are great. My 50 gallon water heater started to leak and was afraid that the overflow pan would fill and start a problem for!t downstairs neighbors. I live in an upper i it condo and sure didn't want issues. Dan, the owner got Tyler over to assess the problem. Since the water heater was only a little over 3 yrs old Tyler turned off the water and they checked to find it still under warranty. Came back today with new tank, installed and set to go. So happy with the speed and quality of service. Would gladly recommend Carolina Water Heaters and plumbing to anyone needing services."

Customers say: Super punctual

"A friend had bought a system from Coastal Empire Water and he recommended them to me.
From start to finish it was a great experience, everything
they said it would do and then some.
I can not believe the difference it has made.
I have two dogs and was giving them bottled water because
our water tasted so bad, now I give them water from the sink.
My laundry and dishes are clean ( not dull ) and no water
spots!
I have dry skin, so I would limit my shower, but now with
this filtered water I can shower often and my skin actually has moisture!
I drink a lot of water and use a lot of ice cubes, I can
tell you now I no longer worry about what I'm ingesting and the water tastes
good.
I had my sales guy Bob, come back and re-test my water since
having the system, and I can not believe the results versus what my water was
the first night he came out and tested it.

"I was pleased that after 3 years my under sink water purification system required only a partial filtration change. The technician tested my water which supplies my instant hot, my drinking water and my refrigerator - including the ice cube maker. The system is working well and the work was done efficiently and timely."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

A water softener removes minerals from your drinking water and can make your house water softer. These softeners are designed to extend the lifetime of your plumbing system while also making water safer and more palatable for drinking. Hard water, which is water with a heavy amount of suspended particles, can also cause hair damage, skin irritation, and buildup in your pipes.

While it depends on how complicated the unit and installation is, it takes two to four hours to install a water softener unit, on average. It might take longer if pipes need to be replaced. You should make sure the installation area is clear of any objects that might get in the way before you begin.

Water softeners have many benefits. The most important one is converting previously hard water—water with too many minerals—to more usable, easier water. When we say easier water, we mean water that’s easier to digest, less harsh on skin and clothes, and builds up less in the water system. Softer water may lead to lower energy costs and will extend the lifespan of all appliances that use water.

No, hard water isn’t dangerous. The added calcium in hard water can contribute to good bone health. However, it can also cause dry skin and hair. If you have dry skin or hair, consider using a water-softening system to help minimize the minerals in your water. Plus, these systems can also add some sodium to your diet.

The primary difference between a water softener and a water filter lies in what they remove from the water. A water softener is designed to remove hard minerals like calcium and magnesium. In contrast, a water filter has a broader effect, removing various contaminants above a certain size, which can include bacteria and other impurities.

To decide which you need, consider your goal. If you want to eliminate hard minerals, choose a softener. If you want to remove a wide range of contaminants, a filter is the better option. Filters are also generally less expensive to install. Depending on your water supply, you may need to install both for comprehensive treatment.
