"We hired Goods to aerate and re-seed our lawn. Instead, they applied pre-emergent to the bare spots, preventing new grass from germinating for 8-10 weeks. We offered to work with them to correct the mistake by waiting until the fall to do the aeration and re-seeding. Instead, they quit and walked away, leaving us with a lawn more damaged than when we started. This company should be avoided at all costs!"

"This work started last summer and still looks terrible. They said the lawn needed to be completely replaces and the area thatched, aerated, and reseeded. They killed all the grass and mounded the thatch around the edges of the yard. When the grass didn't grow there, they came back and spread a little seed which also did not grow. This spring the yard still looked terrible with the thick thatch around the edges. Although we have complained many times since early spring, they claimed it was too cold to plant grass until May. They still have not corrected the mess they made and our lawn looks terrible."

Sugar water helps the microorganisms in the soil break down nutrients, thus helping certain plants grow. Despite being moderately high-maintenance, St. Augustine grass is popular for several reasons. The biggest properties that make this grass a winner for southeastern lawns include its salt, heat, humidity, and shade tolerance. This grass species is excellent for coastal regions with high humidity, mild winters, and salty skies. It’s also easy to establish in yards.

It depends on the condition of the grass during the drought. If your grass completely died, it won’t turn green again after drought. However, if it just went dormant, you still have a chance to revive your lawn once drought conditions have passed. Follow proper lawn care practices after a drought to try and get your lawn back to its healthy, green self.

If it’s been a few weeks and you haven’t seen anything pop up, double-check your seed packet and make sure you didn’t miss any steps. Did they need cold stratification (putting seeds in the freezer and then transferring to water before planting)? Do they have an exceptionally long germination period? 

 If you’ve followed all of the directions closely, you may just have had a bad batch of seeds. (Sadly, it happens.)
