Tomlinson Bomberger Lawn Landscape Pest Control

This work started last summer and still looks terrible. They said the lawn needed to be completely replaces and the area thatched, aerated, and reseeded. They killed all the grass and mounded the thatch around the edges of the yard. When the grass didn't grow there, they came back and spread a little seed which also did not grow. This spring the yard still looked terrible with the thick thatch around the edges. Although we have complained many times since early spring, they claimed it was too cold to plant grass until May. They still have not corrected the mess they made and our lawn looks terrible.

TMB is professional. Not always the least $/quote, however very reliable and will always guarantee their work.

Three properties and three decades later, I have nearly always been satisfied with their services. Now widowed and in a condo, I can use only pest control since the HOA does the mowing, etc. However, I would not hesitate to recommend Tomlinson Bomberger to anyone who desires quality work and is willing to pay a bit more to have it done right and in a timely manner.

I now have them coming every quarter but if you find problem they are right there have a new puppy and he found bee nest called and called they made a appointment and were here on time and took care of it there is not any charge if you find a problem they take care very good company never an issue with any of there team members

The crew arrived on time. They performed the work in an efficient and friendly manner. We were pleased with the appearance of the hedge and the pear trees.

Fine. Cost more than the verbal estimate, but I won't make that mistake again. I'll get a firm quote next time.

It went well. The pest control person was knowledgeable and we think he was effective in helping us rid the problem, though it will be a period of time before we know whether for sure that the ant problem is completely eradicated.

After placing me on the "best program" we began service in the late summer of 2015. After over a year of $100.00 + treatments I'm not satisfied with the lawn. I feel since I'm a small account with them, and my location is a little out of their way, I'm the last guy they think of. I sent an email to the sales man and never got even a reply. The account supervisor seems quite knowledgable and told me "not to worry I have the top plan and they will take care of anything needed". That's not enough for what I have paid, and I am not satisfied with the present condition of the lawn. I cancelled their service and went to the store for supplies. Like anything else- if you want something to satisfy yourself, do it yourself. I'm sorry I entered into this contract and spent this much money on a company who is too busy with their large contracts.

The guys who did the tree work were fantastic! They get an A. Answered a ton of questions for us.My ratings reflect my actual experience with the company and "account manager." One of the account managers visited our house to discuss our needs. We needed two proposals-one for tree service and the other for landscaping. She was friendly and while we were choosing between Tomlinson and another company, she gave us her pitch about how with them the big difference was that we would have an actual account manager that we could call and reach out to about our property. We have a lot of landscaping needs in the future, so we thought this sounded best despite the fact that Tomlinson was more $$. Unfortunately, it really was just a pitch for an undelivered value proposition. Our "account manager" forgot to send out one of our two proposals. She did not return two of my emails: one discussing budget and the other regarding a % off promo (more on that below). The only email she did respond to was the one saying we were moving ahead with the tree service only! She never followed back up with me via a phone conversation we had where she said she would get back to me on the % off promo (again more on that below). Very disappointed. To make matters worse, 6 business days after we accepted our proposal they send us an email with a promo for 10% off a proposal you accept by a certain date. Since we had just verbally accepted ours I emailed our account manager to see if they would honor it in our case. No response. I call her a week later and she says she'll look into it and get back to me. No response. I did however get my bill in the mail and it didn't include the discount, so I guess that's my answer! Look elsewhere for your tree and landscaping needs--we will be for our remaining work! (Sidebar-punctuality rating reflects the fact that the team had to push back our work due to weather. Understandable, but they didn't tell us that until 4 hours after they were supposed to be at our House and me and the kids had sat around waiting for them).

They've also been out here twice to aerate my lawn. I will continue to use them in the future. My lawn always looks better when I get that done.

They were here about 2 weeks ago. It's like $55 a time.

They are professional and the workers are always helpful but they are very expensive. I shopped around and found a much better price this year.

The grass is cut when it is needed -- every week in the summer and then it tapers off after a while. The cost is $18 a week for lawn cutting. We would recommend everything about them. They did an amazing job at our house. Just how thorough they are and what they do stands out about them. They are not the cheapest. They are good.

Proposal was $3495. I used another contractor for $2150. Anthony, the rep, argued with me about running a dual wheel truck in the narrow alley adjacent to house. I asked for a stipulation as part of the agreement that no dual wheel trucks would enter the alley. Anthony argued that it wouldn't hurt anything, to which I rpelied that I've lived here for over 50 years and dual wheel trucks would be up on the narrow sidewalk and would break the concrete and might knock the electric meter off the wall as has happened in the past. Anthony also stated that they'd use a bobcat for the materials and would possibly need to take the fence down to do the work. The contractor I used didn't need a dual wheel truck in the alley, didn't need a Bobcat and didn't need to take the fence down. By using another contractor I saved $1345.

The work on our job started well, with a prompt response to our request for an estimate and a prompt estimate of the work to be done. Parts of the work (removal of medium sized trees, re-sodding) went well and were done within the agreed upon time frame (completion by the end of May). However, the work on creating an area for our playset, which included removal of ivy, regrading of the lawn, and mulching the area, was very poorly done. The initial re-grading of the lawn was not done properly and had to be redone. The estimator claimed that he didn't remember that it was part of the estimate, but it clearly was. Therefore, it was not done before the delivery of the playset, and my husband had to end up doing part of it himself. Communication back and forth over these issues was very poor, and the job did not end up being finished until early August. I would not hire or recommend this company.

We have been using Tomlinson Bomberger for a variety of Lawn and Garden Services. Our key contact is Bob Kandratavich. He is very reliable, customer focused and an excellent home and landscaping consultant. Since we started working with Tomlinson about 2 years ago we have contracted a number of their services. (1) Lawn Fertilizer and Aeration. as a result our lawn is fuller and healthier. The bear spots and weeds are gone. the lawn is more uniforn and has more street appeal. (2) Tree and Bush pest control and fertilizer. Our trees and bushes are fuller and healthier. If there is any question they investigate and attend to it right away. (3) Tree removal and pruning: We had to have a few large trees removed; one because the electric company cut out the branches and destroyed the tree the other was removed for a deck expansion. (3) Pest control: since they started about 6 months ago. We have not had any issues with bugs or rodents. (4) Landscaping. Our lot was seriously overgrown. With Bob's help and guidance we removed significant portions of the overgrown bushes. We had other contracfors come in for a patio and deck. Tomlinson Bomberger created new foundational plantings and accents. The design is natural light and airy. It complements the patio very well and integrates nicely with the existing landscaping. We will continue to work with Tomlinson., Everyone on their team is friendly, reliable and does a great job. The entire team is focused on customer satisfaction. We highly recommend Tomlinson Bomberger for any of the services listed above.

Based on positive reviews here, I contracted with TB for my lawn care. They promptly sent a representative who was very nice and accommodating. I explained that I was away a lot and needed full service lawn care. I thought he understood that I wanted them to "just do it". That I did not want to have to monitor everything. His plan was to get my lawn into "maintenance mode" and, thereafter, accomplish weekly clean-ups as needed, with bi-annual mulching, pruning, etc. Not cheap, but sounded like what I wanted. A big part of "maintenance mode" was weed preventer. Long story short, no weed preventer was applied, the poor guy who mowed was expected to keep everything under control, which clearly was not workable. The weeds came back full-force in short order and I ended up with all the same work I had before. I tried to work with them... I talked, I sent emails, the rep came to the house again... nothing changed. And, there's no coordination of services... each part of the company operates independently and leaves bills hanging off the doorknob at random times. If you're not home to retreive them, they get wet and soggy, and you're left with having to dry out shreds of paper. All the mowing bills went missing and they put me on credit hold while I was out of town... no calls, no delinquent bills, just credit issues. All in all, it was a disaster. I still have the pest control, which so far is OK, but I've had to force them to call for an appointment so that I can see what they're doing and get the bill. My suggestion: be wary if you're not home all the time; or if you're not in Lancaster where they're based. The guy who mowed for me covered a very wide territory. If it rained, he went missing for days... sometimes two weeks. And, be aware that you will be charged travel time and lunch time for clean-ups... in my case, an extra $300. And, you will not get an itemized bill showing it. I think my experience was probably unusually bad for this company... just be cautious.

It was time to update the front entrance and shrubbery to our home - it had become tired and blah. We contacted several design / install companies to give us a quote. We found many did not take the time to listen to what we wanted, instead tried to use a cookie cutter solution. Marissa from Tomlinson first came out and first tried to understand what we were looking for before making any recommendations. We talked about options including color, texture, preferences, maintenance - she really spent time with us to understand what we wanted. It then took several design proposals to fine tune a plan to our liking and budget. I can remember being concerned that she was going to get feed up with us with all the back and forth meetings, but if she did, she never let it show. She worked to incorporate all of our wishes and still kept us close to the overall budget we had in mind. In the end, T-B was by no means the least expensive alternative - they were closer to the top of the list than the bottom - but we felt comfortable with the design and assurances that trained professionals would do the work. The design was rather simple so overall the installation went fine. The installers were courteous, professional and paid an enormous amount of attention to detail. I remember thinking it was taking them a long time for what I thought was a rather small job. There was one small oops in the hardscape install that struck me odd. We mentioned to Marissa and by the next day she had someone come out and they took care of it quickly. Overall it was a very positive experience dealing with Tomlinson Bomberger.

They were very good. They were very responsive. We called them for an emergency. We had wasp nesting between our walls, ate through our inner wall, and entered the house. We called them, and they came out within the hour.
