"I contacted six companies for estimates to remove attic insulation, air seal and sanitize the attic, and blow in new insulation to R49 specs. Air-Tight's estimate was in the middle of the pack. Justin Wolfe, owner and CEO of Air-Tight LLC, gave me an estimate over the phone, answered every one of my follow up questions, and scheduled my work within the week. He stopped by at the beginning and end of the job. The crew did exactly what he said theyâ d do and were very mindful of my property. My neighbors commented on how nice they left the area. He even sealed an area under my steps and at the back of my home where Iâ d seen chipmunks enter and had an opportunity to sell more work when I asked him to check the attic above my garage but said I didnâ t need it and stayed with his original estimate. I recommend Air-Tight LLC without hesitation and am thankful I chose them."

"The crew at Bullseye did a great job adding additional insulation to my attic space. They got my home back up to the proper Rvalue, they also added some vents to help with air flow. Very professional and clean up was great. Can't wait to see the savings on my heating and cooling bills!"

"I am very happy with service we received. They explained the process involved very well. They worked with my schedule and performed tasks as stated. Left area involved clean. Heat is working much better in this cold snap. I would recommend this insulation company for anyone's need for insulation work to be done."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you should insulate your copper pipes to help regulate their temperature. Well-insulated copper pipes will be protected from freezing and can conserve energy by keeping hot water warm for longer. Foam rubber insulation tubes are the best pipe insulation to prevent freezing since they fit tightly around the pipes while still maintaining some flexibility.

Ductwork sweats due to a temperature difference between the air inside the ducts and the surrounding air, similar to how a cold drink develops condensation in the heat. This sweating is a sign that your HVAC system is not operating at peak efficiency. The best way to keep ductwork from sweating is to wrap it in proper insulation, which also improves your system's energy efficiency. Another option is to close off your crawl space and install a dehumidifier to dry the air and lower its dew point.

The most energy-efficient windows are double—or triple-pane windows with low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings and gas fills between the panes. These windows reduce heat transfer, prevent drafts, and help maintain a consistent indoor temperature. But if replacing windows isn’t in your budget, pairing your existing windows with insulating window treatments can still make a noticeable difference in home comfort and monthly bills.

There are two reasons why cellulose insulation repels rodents (and insects). First, the insulation has been treated with boric acid, which is a natural pest-repellent. In addition, the loose-fill style of cellulose creates less-than-ideal conditions for mice and other rodents to nest and burrow, helping to keep them at bay.

Yes, insulating your cold water pipes is a great way to prevent condensation. When warm, humid air meets cold pipes, condensation forms, which can drip and cause moisture issues in your home. Pipe insulation acts as a barrier between the warm air and the cold pipes, keeping condensation at bay and helping you avoid potential problems like mold or structural damage.
