"I live in a house that is over 100 years old with a stone foundation that also forms the basement walls. The old mortar between the stones had deteriorated over the years to the point that water would seep in in multiple places along the perimeter of the basement wall. This seepage basically occurred after every rain, and I always needed to move objects stored in the basement away from the perimeter for fear that they would be water damaged. I actually wasn’t very confident that the seepage problem could be fixed, but I finally decided to contact several basement contractors to determine if there was anyway to waterproof the basement. I ultimately decided to hire Basement Gurus because Mike (initial company contact) sold me on the idea and that their workers were the best in the business. Well, it’s been seven weeks since the basement work was completed, and even though we’ve had a couple of nor’easters with heavy rain blow through the area, the basement has been bone dry; the basement work has been a resounding success! I take my hat off to all the good folks at Basement Gurus, in particular Mark, Dylan, Lenny and the other members of the team that worked hard to waterproof my basement. "We are so happy with the work of WilMarc Construction- we have had them do two major home remodels for us- both times, Willie came out and listened to our ideas and what we had in mind and then gave thoughts of his own (which were always better than ours) and the results were both beautiful and reasonable. Our first project was redoing a kitchen and we had thought an extension would be best and he came up with a more economical solution to combine a couple of rooms, change windows and location of the bathroom. He always did what he said he was going to do and didn't overcharge. Our last project was just finished- installing hardwood floors and redoing two upstairs bathrooms. When we started pricing out flooring at a couple of flooring places, we realized it would be better to ask Willie his opinion and get an estimate and we ended up doing two bathrooms as well as the floors and replacing the stairs--all things that needed to be done for a reasonable cost. "Communication between owner and workman/foreman was poor. I felt like I had to inform the workman and find answers to questions via email on a regular basis. There was no walk through at the end or any contact from builder to make sure I was satisfied with the project completion. I had to contact them with the punch list. I did really like two of the vendors. . .the kitchen planner and the vendor that showed me faucets and garbage disposals. The electrician that was used was in a hurry when he came the first time to see what was needed. Not enough time to think through the logistics."
