"You can have anyone write a 5 star review, its the one star you need to pay attention to. Avoid this company like the plague. Thye missed several issues including water leak and plumbing issues that they managed to have in their pictures but failed to document. They missed several basic electrical issues, things were paid for that were not done. If you choose this company and Matt Linderman is your inspector request a different inspector. When confronted about the horrible inspection that was done this company will hide behind ambiguous language and claim they follow all standards while completely screwing up the inspection resulting in costly repairs you'll end up paying for."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

Since radon typically comes out of the soil, it is most commonly found in the lower levels of a home. In houses with basements, that's a common location for radon. Homes built directly on the ground may have radon on the ground floors. Radon can be found on the upper floors of the home, but often in lower concentrations than in lower levels.

Radon enters your home when warm air begins to rise and exits through the roof, creating a vacuum that pulls cooler air from under the foundation. Part of that air is radon, which is an invisible, odorless gas that develops naturally when radioactive particles are deep within the ground. Those particles usually come from decaying matter in soil and rocks.

You'll need to test your home for radon after installing the mitigation system, then again every two years. If radon remains elevated, contact a licensed radon professional, either the contractor who installed the system or a different one, and have them evaluate the system. They may need to make some changes to improve its effectiveness and performance.

Testing typically costs between $150 and $500, depending on the method used and the number of areas tested.

DIY kits are available for basic testing. Professional services provide comprehensive results and recommendations.
