Small jobs welcome

"Fabiano was a pleasure to work with. He was punctual when showing up to provide an estimate and to the project itself. He gave me accurate time lines and updates in real time when fixing my deck. After comparing 4 other contractors to replace my deck, Fabiano gave the best quote with no surprises and the estimate was spot on! I would absolutely recommend Fabiano for your next project"

"Steve called imediately after my request for painting contractors and was able to come by the house within a day or two to give an estimate. We wanted our 2-story foyer, upstairs hallways, ceiling and all of the baseboards/trim painted. We chose the paint color which would have been a disaster - Steve gave us his honest opinion of the color options that would look best and left the swatches with us to decide. He was so right. The job was done in a day-and-half and looks great. We could not be happier with the job he and Alvo did. You can't go wrong with hiring Steve!"

"Tom Heiler is a PRO! He was so easy to work with; very professional, thorough and clear. His crew was polite, meticulous and thorough. Despite a color mix-up, Tom corrected the problem immediately and they finished 2 days early! Which was a huge help because it was the week before Christmas. I highly recommend!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Staining pressure-treated wood is a recommended practice. While inherently resilient, it's not impervious to moisture and UV exposure. Staining treated wood is feasible and recommended for enhanced protection and longevity. Applying stain and sealant safeguards against degradation, prolonging its life span. These measures shield the wood from environmental threats while augmenting its aesthetic appeal, ensuring your investment endures the test of time.

The number of coats you need to apply when whitewashing a surface depends on how opaque you want the final product to be. If you're going for a transparent, barely there look, a single coat or two may suffice. For fuller coverage, you'll want to use multiple coats. Another option is to use a less diluted paint to get a thicker coverage.

When applying multiple coats, wait four to six hours for each coat to dry. Not waiting long enough can result in streaks, peeling, and uneven color. Plus, it will be more difficult to discern where the second coat has already been applied.

Two coats of stain are ideal for the best protection and aesthetic appeal. However, if your decking is made of particularly dense hardwood, you may only need one coat. If you want an intense color, two coats are ideal.

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.
