We love our deck!!! Dominic of Thomas Tyler Construction was fantastic, helpful, and provided us with a deck we will enjoy for years. We were in an unfortunate situation where we hired someone else to build a deck out back and that person started the work but never finished the deck. Dominic answered my inquiry on his website and came out to our house to review the situation. He was able to assess what was salvageable and what needed to be rebuilt. He talked us through the entire process, provided us with accurate quotes, and keep us apprised of the progress through the journey. Dominic was able to rebuild what the previous person had built incorrectly. He not only corrected the mistakes but made the design more aesthetically please throughout the process. A couple of bonus additions we did as the new deck was developed. Dominic and his team were able to install a wooden support board behind the siding so we could install a tv out back on the covered portion of the deck. He increased the width of the stairs to the yard so the design was more appealing. He also found a way to make the step into the garage look much better than the previous design. Dominic truly cares about the quality of the product he’s building. He’s got a long history of success and you can see it in how he and his team complete the work. They’re thorough and have a high attention to detail. We would 100% recommend him to anyone looking to build a deck.

Dom and his team did a beautiful job on our deck. The workmanship is high quality and done per our specifications. Dom was very responsive, addressed all of my questions and provided costs before doing any work. One area for improvement would be to have someone touch base in the time prior to having work begin to let the customer know that there may be delays. For example, I paid my initial deposit and then heard nothing for a few months when the quoted start date came and went. I had to reach out to them to find out that there would be a delay. I chalk this up to Covid craziness coupled with the fact that contractors are often not the most diligent about follow up/communication. All in all, this was a very positive experience and I would hire Thomas Tyler Construction again.

My initial contact was with their Outside Salesman. I was not originally impressed and wrote a negative review. Since that review, I was contacted by the Owner and we had several conversations. He has sent over formal quotes. Today I agreed to move forward with this project with this Contractor. I look forward to providing another review after the work is completed

The team at Thomas Tyler Construction was great. The owner, Dominic, came to survey my property and give me an estimate. He was very knowledgeable and I was impressed at how well he could calculate measurements just by looking. The workers were prompt and efficient. My entire job was completed in 5 days (minus a rain day). I am extremely pleased with my beautiful new deck.

Work was done well and speedily so there was only one day we couldn't get down the back steps. Estimated start time (given in August) was late October. Work began first week of November. That was a first for us of start time being so close to estimate. The carpenter crew and support crew were professional and helpful to deal with. Good communication all around. We love our safe, sturdy porch and stairs plus they look great. Thank you

We obtained several estimates and decided to go with Thomas Tyler Construction. We chose this company because of the great reviews, plus, when Dominic Dragan - the owner - came over to do the estimate, we were impressed - it was clear that he really knew his sunrooms. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem (skylight holes were cut too large, connection between the sunroom roof and house roof was not done properly and the wall and roof panels were not fastened to I-Beam supports) and provide a solution. While the original installers spent months trying to fix the problem, he executed a fix in a matter of days. Moreover, it has been a year since this repair (repair was done in August, 2015) and during that time we have had a number of very heavy rains and we are leak-free! Our only regret is that we didn’t call him sooner! We are so grateful for his work and expertise! We would highly recommend this company!

Dominic and his team from Thomas Tyler were prompt, responsive and did quality work. We had a very ambitious timeline for which Dominic was very accommodating.  Upon demolition of the old structure we found some water damage which they were able repair at a very reasonable cost. The quality of the result was great. We couldn't be happier.

Domenic responded promptly to our call and listened to our needs. He outlined what he proposed to do for us including bringing the deck and porch up to meet today's building codes. He proposed widening the steps to yard ten feet below and a wider screen door. The job started promptly and the workmanship was excellent. The finished deck and porch are such an improvement and add value to our home. We chose Thomas Tyler after reading great reviews from satisfied customers. We join the list of extremely satisfied customers. They are professional, and Domenic is a perfectionist. We are just sorry we didn't do this sooner.

Update:  we have since found additional problems with the deck construction (oddly spaced deck flooring, rough edges on wood that make staining difficult, loose nails and screws).  Maybe it was the subcontractor folks they used, but I cannot recommend.

There are just too many cooks spoiling this. There were at least 3 layers of involvement. One of the co-owners (Matt) did the estimate, another guy did the measurements, and yet a third did the work. It took way too long to get the work completed. My questions were often left unanswered for long periods of time. It took months for my concerns to be addressed (and even then, they have not been completely). Matt seems like a nice guy, but he was only responsive initially and when payment was due.
When Matt initially came out, I should have picked up on how he downplayed the scope of the work. A few hundred dollars was "no big deal" from his point of view.
I would say to use this company with caution. They may treat you better if you have a big job. In any case DO NOT LET THEM "GET AHEAD" OF YOU.  In other words, do not make payment in full until you are completely satisfied. Otherwise, don't expect to hear from them with any promptness, if at all. 

They were professional and timely throughout the process. I would highly recommend them for any job out there! I hired them again to install windows and fix moulding on the front of my house cause they did such a good job before!

They were fantastic and the best part was the finished product. They were easy to work with and there was really no problem. They started a little bit late but we had such crappy weather last year but I can't fault them for that. once the project started, he would call everyday to tell us what time he was coming. We just love them.

I first contacted Thomas Tyler Construction in mid-May of this year.  I had previously used a deck design program and knew pretty well the size and L-shaped design of the deck I wanted.  Matt suggested that the size I had in mind (20 x 22 plus an L 6 x 16) was huge.  We made an adjustment down to 14 x 22 and he developed a price estimate which seemed workable.  He also stated that they always obtain the proper city permits before beginning construction and that construction could begin once the permit was obtained. Approximately a week later someone came out to more accurately measure and take photos for the permit.  Time passed.  Again, neighbors reported seeing someone in the yard taking photos.  I assumed perhaps it was a city inspector but later found out it was a Thomas Tyler representative.
Weeks went by with minimal contact.  I contacted Matt but the only info I could get was that they were waiting on the permit. 
I thought perhaps it was because we are located in a historical district of Philadelphia that it had to go by the Historical Commission but really no firm explanation.  Eventually, we returned home from being out to discover five footing holes in the back yard.  Jubilation!!!  Matt contacted me to say they would be there to put in the footings but the inspector had to check the holes first.  This was shortly done, and deck construction begun on September 8th by Scott and his son.  In discussions with subcontractor and deck builder Scott Schneider it was revealed that the permit problems had NOT been
with Thomas Tyler Construction but with, no surprise, the City of Philadelphia.  Thomas Tyler had filed and paid for the construction permit in a timely fashion however as time went by they discovered that the City had ?lost? the application and refiling was required.  So I have no fault with Thomas Tyler for the delay but do wish I had received more info along the way. 
Now that construction is in full swing I am very pleased with the work being performed by subcontractor Scott Schneider and his son, Corey.  Expert precision care is being taken with the construction.  He has been very communicative and works long days to get the project completed. There is almost no waste of materials with a minimal scrap pile. Not only will we have a deck it will be properly trimmed and finished to be a real asset to our home. 
The deck is now complete and it exceeds expectations.  Every angle is perfectly trimmed, every board is perfectly square, extra care has been taken to go the extra mile.  This deck is truly one that you would see in a home and garden magazine.  There is not a hint of any scrap or stray nails left anywhere.  I?m extremely happy with this project and would certainly welcome them back for another construction project.  Thank you for a job well done.

Dominic came exactly when he said he would. He removed all the broken glass and caulking from the
frame, installed the new glass, caulked, sealed and even washed to new
window to eliminate any streaks. He and his partner, Matt Casey,
were most cooperative, thoughtful and explanatory, which enhanced my
satisfaction with their work. I found the company on Angie's List and am
most happy with the outcome. A word to anyone having to go through this process: Be sure to ask whether you are getting the full window (frame and glass) as a replacement or only the glass. The former involves minimal work for installation. The latter involves hiring a pro, which I was fortunate to find in Dominic.

Overall, this job and the company get an A+.  Dominick, the owner/manager, is awesome.  He can get things done at a very affordable price simply because he hustles.  You need to forgive him for slight tardiness, it's only because he cares about his jobs very sincerely and does not let customers down.  His team will stay late for your project too.  I received quotes for $40-50K for a "3 season sunroom", and $2K for screens only.  Dominick came in with a great solution that looks awesome and actually keeps the heat in very well in the fall/spring.
Use these guys, they will do right by you.

Process was great from start to finish. We entertained several bids before deciding on Thomas Tyler Construction. TTC was not the least expensive bid but offered the best options as to available materials and time frame for completion. TTC workers arrived on time. They were professional in every manner. Their work ethic was commendable. They cleaned up the worksite at the end of each day. We are very pleased with the finished deck. I would highly recommend Thomas Tyler Construction.

Everything went well from the moment I called Thomas Tyler when Dominic came out to give me an estimate to the completion of the job. The men were very skilled in the work that was performed.   The outcome looks amazing and I get compliments all the time.   Next year, I'm looking to get my wooden deck redone with the same composite & will definitely give Thomas Tyler the call!  
Another thing I want to mention, the bottom part of my landing is not finished off because I have not found the color lattice that I want to use.  Dominic mentioned to me that when I find what I want to give him a call & they will install it for me, no problem.  
Now that is a GREAT contractor!

I found the services performed to be of very good quality and value.  I love my new deck!
