Other signs that your toilet flange is broken or faulty may include loose tiles or soft flooring around the toilet, and sewage smells.

If your pipes are frozen, water won’t be able to flow—meaning your toilet won’t be able to flush properly. In basic terms, toilet bowls flush when water rushes in from the toilet tank. If the pipes are frozen, your tank won’t be able to refill after a flush.
