The price he offered was very reasonable, in fact after we agreed on the price and went looking for stone and we looked at several options and we’re going to go with artificial stone, but he recommended that we should go with real stone, even though it was much more expensive, but he felt that it would look much better on our house. You can technically use wall paint on a ceiling, but it’s not ideal. Wall paint is thinner and more prone to dripping, which makes it harder—and messier—to apply overhead. Any significant level of sheen can highlight ceiling imperfections and create glare from lighting. Flat ceiling paint is the better choice for a smooth, even finish that hides flaws.

One gallon of paint can usually cover up to 400 square feet. Therefore, painting a one- or two-car garage door typically requires one gallon of paint, which should give you enough for the two to three coats experts recommend for this job. However, if you're painting a lighter color over a darker color, you might need more. Using primer can decrease the total number of coats of paint you need.

While you can use wall paint on the ceiling, there are some differences between ceiling and wall paint. Ceiling paint tends to be thicker, cover discoloration better, and comes in a more limited color selection. Wall paint is thinner, holds up to regular cleaning better, and is available in an almost endless variety of colors.

While flat and satin finishes are ideal for garage or front doors, siding, and trim, gloss and semi-gloss are more common on shutters. That’s because these types of finishes highlight this proportionally smaller exterior home feature, adding both contrast and layers of texture to the overall facade. Other types of finishes aren’t off limits, but you’ll have more success by choosing one that provides a nice sheen. 

You can sometimes add water to your spray gun, depending on the design of your sprayer and the type of paint, paint finish, or sealant. In many cases, mixing in around 10% percent of water to the paint makes for an easier application process and further evens out the mist.
