hired Don Collins Painting to do some trim work on my son's house. Price was right, started it a week later and the crew (Dan and Emmett ) were professional, friendly and did a superb job. I will hire Don Collins Painting in the future. Paul Krawczun

Interior painting with wallpaper removal

Had a 8-10 week backlog due to pandemic, but finally got the work scheduled. Showed up on time. Reviewed scope of work and got to work straight away. I added several windows on back & side of house to be painted & caulked. Add-on work was rather expensive relative to initial proposal, but the windows are on upper floor. Work was good overall. On close inspection, some prep work could have been done better. One extra request to apply mullion tape to the seams of several double windows was only completed on one window, and the old tape was not completely removed, leaving the mullion seam looking poor. Skipping the other windows may have been the result of miscommunication on my part. Other work was done well. Clean-up was good.

I had some hiccups in this project and cannot say everything went perfectly and smoothly, however I can say that Dan was extremely receptive to my feedback on the hiccups and immediately worked to resolve any concerns I had. I felt comfortable with the staff in my home and their level of professionalism. I understand that things are going to go wrong on a job, but how someone handles it is the "make or break" for me and they handled it very well and were very attentive. I would use them again and would recommend them.

Dan's people were very punctual and polite, and cleaned up well after every day's work. Dan was available very promptly by phone or email. I am very pleased with the job that they did!

Once the crew was able to come after a weather cancellation, they completed the job very thoroughly.

They were prompt, clean and very neat, even vacuumed afterwards. Started early. The only problem was the paint in my kitchen drain where they cleaned the paint brushes but Dan quickly made it right.

It took more than two weeks to have all the work competed. I was not on a tight schedule but I would have like to work completed quicker. Yes, I did have a lot of prep work. I would have expected the "fine tuning" to be better - the lines and trim. I replaced switch outlet covers and saw that they were not removed during the painting. Some of the covers are a little smaller and I had to touch up what was missed, Some hearting grids were painted over with wall color and some painted the trim color. All should have been trim color. The lines separating ceiling, trim and walls are not crisp and straight. Some areas of the walls were not repaired as well as others. It seemed the work deteriorated as time went on - the first few days things did look fine but as time went on the work was not as clean.

I have been using Dan Collins for over a year.  Last year, I bought a 16-year-old house that still had builder's grade white paint throughout the interior.  I arranged for a painter, who changed his mind on the day he was supposed to start. I received Dan's contact information, called him that same morning, and he was out to look at the house that afternoon. It was a large job - 2400+ square feet, with every wall, ceiilng, and piece of trim, crown molding, chair rails, etc. needing to be painted.  He knew I was under a time crunch to get the work done and even though he had other jobs on his calendar, he still managed to put together a crew of 14 guys to come in over the weekend, set up scaffolding where needed, get a huge jump-start on the project.  He made sure there were at least 3 guys at my house every weekday, and then arranged for another large group to come in the following weekend.  The quality of the workmanship was nothing short of excellent.  His guys were polite, respectful, hardworking, diligent, and every single day they cleaned up their entire work area.  About 5 months later, I had his guys come back to paint our staircase, banisters, and the second floor railing which overlooks the first floor family room.  Again, another excellent job.  Most recently (2 weeks ago) I had his guys back again to paint the exterior trim around all our windows, our garage door, front door, two rear doors (one requiring repair due to wood rot), and once again, excellent work.  In the fall, we will bring Dan back in to paint our finished basement.  I wouldn't use anyone else!

Dan Collins firm painted the exterior trim of my house and power washed the siding.  I am pleased with both the quality of the work and the professionalism of his workers.  I would use them again.

Thet were excellent. They did everything right.  Dan Collins Painting did a great job on cleaning up the debris from the job and were able to get it completed in two days.  I would use them again in the future.

As with my previous contacts with Dan Collins, the work was accomplished with professionalism, reliability, and excellent results.  Since I had been concerned about protecting a new deck from the ravages of the elements, and since I am no longer able to apply water treatments myself every one to two years, Dan had suggested going with Sherwin-Williams solid color stain, for maximum protection.  The trade-off was that solid color stain does not allow the wood grain to show through, and that was a trade-off that I was quite willing to make.
Dan's carpenter, George, measured the porch for the new decking, painted the new tongue and groove wood planks on all sides in the shop for maximum protection (after I had selected a color for the stain) and removed the old porch decking with an assistant, once the new decking was ready for installation.  The new deck was completed in two days, as had been previously estimated, and was ready for a final coat of the solid color stain.  Due to unavoidable circumstances, the painter who had been scheduled to apply the final coat on a Saturday was unable to do so.  Dan apologized and offered to come out on Sunday morning and apply the final coat of paint to the deck himself!  I thanked him for his consideration and accepted his offer.  He arrived ten minutes earlier than he had said he would arrive and completed the job with an attention to detail that I have come to associate with Dan Collins Painting.
I have heard nothing but compliments on the new porch deck from everyone who sees it, and I am completely satisfied with the results of this project with Dan Collins.  I will continue to use Dan for all of my painting needs and look forward to my next interaction with him.  
If you have need of a painter who goes beyond professional standards to provide outstanding service, reliability, integrity, and excellent results, Dan Collins should be the person you call.  You could not possibly do better!

Dan's crew were excellent.  The bathroom needed repair prior to painting; he really worked with me.  Next, the  livingroom ceiling needed to be replaced with sheetrock, trim needed to be removed, some furniture needed to be moved..  Everything was completed in a professional manner; plastic was covering a bay window, the entrance between the livingroom and dinningroom; the molding was carefully removed, the sheetrock was installed, taped and painted.  Dan and his crew continued with two coats of paint in the livingroom, up the stairs and landing.  They were awesome.  The bathroom looks great.  He's currently working on another job for me.  And yes, I did use Dan again--I was pleased with everything.  During the first job, I was very sick but his crew took over andwere very professional with everything.

The bedroom was a lot of work, and looks great. Hallway looks good, but could be better..  First, too many little blobs and fibers caught in paint. Second, when I asked for eggshell sheen, I assumed paint would be Benjamin Moore Regal.  The paint used (Ultra Spec
500) is glossier than expected, and looks a little sweaty in indirect light in hallway.  Bedroom gets more even light, so this is not an issue.  Still, would prefer less sheen everywhere, though I should say my husband is not bothered by any of this and is just glad he didn't have to do the work himself. Workers were pleasant, and Dan came to check on the job midway.

Prior to having Dan come out I received several quotes from other contractors listed on Angie's List, but I was not comfortable with their proposals and level of painting knowledge.  After meeting Dan, I felt completely confident that he understood what I was looking to do with the job and was willing to ensure that I would be happy with the results after the job was completed.  Although his bid was not the lowest, I decided to move forward with Dan due to his knowledge, customer focus and willingness to back up his work with a 3 year warranty.

We arranged a start time, and his team was right on schedule.  His work leader, John, met with me before getting started and detailed what would be done each day and the approximate timeline.  John is a professional who has been painting a long time and knows the difference between the right way and the quick, easy way.  At every stage of the process, I felt completely comfortable that the crew knew what they were doing and would make sure the job was done right. 

Due to some rainy and windy conditions, it took about 2 weeks to get the entire job completed.  We did encounter some small issues along the way, but after speaking with Dan all of my concerns were addressed and corrected quickly and fairly.  Dan's only concern was my complete satisfaction with the work, and this was evident in every conversation. 

My house looks incredible now, and I would recommend Dan and his crew to anyone who is looking for a professional team that gets the job done the right way.

Mike was excellent to work with. He was very responsive and really listened to our painting wishes. They painted our house when we were away for a week. We came back to a beautifully painted house that was also clean. I've gotten tons of compliments on the quality of their work. We appreciate this excellent service at a fair price.

Starting with providing the estimate, everyone was very punctual and professional.   There were a few issues, however Dan Collins corrected them immediately.   I had confidence the job would be completed to my expectations and they were.   I would use Dan Collins painting again.

Dan gave an estimate.  His workers performed the work.  They did some interior painting that took a day and a half.  They were very professional and did a great job.  In addition, they cleaned up the area nicely.

My overall experience was very positive. The 2 guys arrived on time to paint.  I showed them the rooms that needed to be painted and they went right to work. They were friendly, professional, and knowledgable. The end product was very good and I would highly recommend Dan Collins Painting to anyone who asks. I plan to hire them for my future painting projects.

ALSO, THEY PAINTED THE HOUSE WITH THE COLORS EXACTLY AS I REQUESTED AFTER I SENT DAN A SAMPLE OF HOW I WANTED THE TRIM AROUND THE DOORS/WINDOWS A SHARP(BRIGHT) WHITE BUT THE BODY OF THE HOUSE A SOFTER(OFF) WHITE.
I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT THIS WAS MONEY WELL SPENT.  A BIG UPGRADE TO THE APPEARANCE OF MY HOME.
I GUESS NO REVIEW WOULD BE FAIR TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC UNLESS MENTION WAS GIVEN TO ANY MISTAKES MADE. THE ONLY ONE WORTH MENTIONING HERE IS THAT AT THE VERY END OF THE JOB AS THEY FINSIHED UP THE WINDOWS THEY PAINTED A COUPLE OF THEM SHUT BY ACCIDENT.  BUT I WAS SO HAPPY WITH THE OVERALL JOB THAT I DID NOT CALL THEM BACK ON THIS, I JUST HANDLED THIS MYSELF
AND WAS ABLE TO PRY THEM OPEN USING PUTTY KNIFE. BUT THIS WAS A LITTLE ANNOYING AND ALSO ODD SINCE THEY WERE CAREFUL EARLIER IN THE JOB TO KEEP THE WINDOWS CRACKED WHEN INITIALLY DOING THE PRIMING/SEALING
I THOUGHT THE PRICE THEY GAVE ME FOR THE JOB WAS REASONABLE. I HAD A BALLPARK FIGURE IN MIND AND THEY CAME IN AT THE UPPER END OF MY PRICE RANGE.  THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO ME WAS NOT THE EXACT PRICE I WAS PAYING, BUT THE FACT THAT I WAS HIRING SOMEONE THAT HAD A MANY GOOD REVIEWS. THIS GAVE ME THE CONFIDENCE THAT THEY WOULD DO A SOLID JOB, AND AS MENTIONED EARLIER THEY DELIVERED A VERY PROFESSIONAL JOB.

Overall Dan and his team did a great job. I was very impressed with how well they cleaned up after themselves and it was a delight to have the house painted with minimal mess. The team was friendly and polite.
We had a very dark living room (original color was red) painted a cream. It looks gorgeous and the team did a great job. In our bedroom the ceiling had a wavy texture and it was damaged in a few places. They repaired the damage and then did a skim coat and now the ceiling is smooth and perfect. Although they had to do a lot of sanding, they cleaned up afterwards and closed off the closet area so there was no dust on our clothes.
Dan asked on a few occasions to make sure I was completely happy with the paint job or they would come back until I was. I've found a couple of very minor things to touch up and I'm sure they would have come back if I had noticed earlier.
I would have rated the overall experience an "A" except for the lack of follow through and a bit of drama at the beginning of the job. I had to call Dan 3 or 4 times to get the final bill. It was wrong the first time and then the final bill was only verbal and not in writing.
I had also asked for an estimate to get the outside of the house painted for next spring and to date I still have not received it. After asking 3 or 4 times I gave up.  I believe Dan received a few jobs at the same time and the busyness may have made him forgetful.
