Rich Janis and his crew are the best. Rich is a long time local in Camden County and really knows the homes in this area. They did a quality job painting our exterior applying several coats of paint. The staff is very professional, courteous and friendly. I would recommend RA Janis to my friends and family.

Rich and his crew are the best we have ever dealt with. The process from estimate, paint selection and the actual work itself was exactly as discussed and the final price was as quoted.
The care taken during the work to protect the surroundings from paint splatter was meticulous.
R A Janis is the most professional painting contractor we have ever dealt with. We will not have to search when the balance of the house is painted, we will just call Janis.

Each roomand the job was done meticulously by Rich.  Drop cloths everywhere.  He took his time, explained the quality of the paint that he used and generally did a quality job.  The colors he picked with us made all the framing stand out.  We went from a home that was all white to a beautiful home full of colors.  Would recommend them anytime.  Left him alone to paint and he is very trustworthy and doesn't rush the job.

I have a large home in a nice neighborhood. My neighbors had used Janis' services so I thought it would be ok.  Insurance certificate was provided, as well as letters of recommendation (mostly interior work)
Rick Janis and a helper came to do the job and were clean and professional.  There were no paint splatters on the roof or sidewalk; they drop-clothed everything.  I was at home for the 2 weeks during the  job.
Everything seemed to be OK until I tried to open any of my windows after they were painted.  They had been painted shut by Rick's assistant!  All he had to do was ask me to open the windows as each was painted, but he did not (a communication failure). Then, in order to open the windows, instead of using a razor blade/box cutter around the edge, he used a spackle taping blade, hitting it into the window seal with the heel of his hand , which broke the seals on many windows and the mechanism on one of my living room crank-out windows ( I had to keep this window shut until it was replaced later.  They said they didn't do that, so I paid for that replacement myself.)  This also meant that the inside trim on all of the windows was not painted.
They did not brush the exterior as I thought it would be ( my fault, I assumed that was the proper way to do the job, but I didn't specify that) , rather, it was sprayed.  The paint must have been somewhat diluted, because you could see spray marks on the higher reaches of the cedar siding all around the house after the first rain.
As for the deck power washing, they must have used too strong of a power setting on my cedar deck, because you could see the cleaning stripes- against the grain!- through the deck stain.
After the job was completed, I discovered that they had not painted two overhang/ceiling sections; one under the entire roof area overhanging my front porch, and the other a section overhanging one of three garage doors.  Also, they did not paint the trim underneath the window boxes of both my kitchen and dining room.   I remember calling and leaving a message that this was not done.  I never got a response; I had aleady paid in full and they were gone.
Understanding that not every job goes perfectly, I must have been that random unlucky one.
I finally had my house repainted in 2012, by another company.
I certainly hope, in the 10 years since Janis' company did my job, they have not repeated these types of errors, or at least have remedied them for other customers.

Response from R A JANIS PAINTING INC
"The house was painted in 2003, repainted in 2012 that is 9 years....The review came 8 years after the job was done? I am really sorry about this clients view, and I won't respond point for point. As hard as we try I know I will not please everyone. I really feel badly that some one would need to respond 8 years after the job was completed. What I can address today is that every client has my cell number, email address, my home address...and I welcome comments and address any questions. Rich J."

Fantastic.  Rich was very professional and provided great tips from the beginning. At first, we couldn't decide the color we wanted for the exterior work.  Rich told us to check out the houses in our neighboorhood and find a color we liked.  He then tracked down that particular color for us.  He also helped us select colors for our new shutters.  We didn't think we wanted our front door repainted, but Rich insisted it would look much better and he chose a great color that we wouldn't have thought of!  Throughout the project, Rich and his crew were punctual and professional.  Very nice guys to work with.  They even installed our new shutters and caulked some leaks in our gutters.  Top notch service!  The work was done almost a year ago, and it still looks perfect.  Our popcorn ceiling looks brighter, plus the glitter is now gone.  Great interior work and no messes at all!

Excellent.  Rich was very professional and a pleasure to work with.  He works alongside his small crew and they all were trustworthy and skilled in their trade.

Rich also was flexible with our needs and provided recommendations that improved the quality and result of the overall job.

His respect for his customers is obvious and his experience shows.  I don't think there's anything in painting he hasn't seen before.
