Providing all areas of the Poconos with good reliable plumbing, drain cleaning, heating, and ac service at a fair price.

"Pete determined the pump needed to be changed. He changed it without advising us to pump the tank first. He charged $95 for first half hour, then $95/HR after that. He claimed a big company would have charged us double. Total for the pump and service was $655. He did a sloppy job, using plastic zip ties and the pump was not placed in the tank properly. We had to call him less than 2 weeks later. He came and removed debris from the pump, and did not charge us which was nice, however if the tank was pumped initially, there wouldn't be any debris. We had to call him again 2 weeks after than, at which time he charged us $142.50, and said if he had to come back, he would have to replace the pump. A month later, the alarm went off again (high level water). We decided to go with Allstate Septic, who had us pump the tank first, then came the next day and freed additional debris from the pump. They only charged $85 to come, plus project cost. They determined that the pump was not placed properly, and told us that the work that Pete did was sloppy. They removed and cleared the bottom of the pump and charged only $122. If you need any septic tank work, don't call PTS, call a septic company. Also, PTS claims to accept credit cards, however, Pete did not accept any credit cards, check or cash only, claiming he does not want to pay the credit card fees. Allstate also told us they would have charged us $450 for the pump, not $655. I would never hire him again, his work is sub par, and he is overpriced."

"Walt and his guys were great on time! They came within a week of calling for a quote and came right away to start our deck. They did other things while they were there as well! Looking forward to working with them on our home renovation. Love a company that can do more than one thing!"

We are a small group of crafstmen practicing the art of custom masonry. Our goal is to create one-of-a kind works of stone and mortar which defy replication.

"After a number of years of using this company for various chimney needs on two 100 year old fireplaces we are done. Their prices are very high and advice has spotty resulting in redo’s (at our expense) on numerous occasions, still, we hung in there. THEN the latest issue was a faulty damper that they had installed a few years ago. Constant problems ensued, requiring multiple service calls every year. The latest came two days after the last $800, chimney cleaning when the damper once again stuck then finally opened only half way. I asked for a final resolution as this could not continue. The response by the owner Mr. Beckthorn, was condescending , accusatory, rude and insulting, as if he was talking to a petulant child. He further informed me that if MY attitude didn't improve he was going to tell us to find another contractor. His final comment “if you have a real solution then propose it, otherwise, let me work”. I did .. and fired him - I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY."

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

Only yellow Teflon tape is approved for use on gas lines. Also called yellow PTFE tape, it is thicker and specifically rated for use on natural gas and propane connections. Standard white Teflon tape is not safe for gas applications. If you have questions about sealing gas line connections, contact a pro like a gas line contractor or plumber who installs or runs gas lines.

You can maneuver your gas grill into place, but you cannot connect the grill to your gas source yourself. All municipalities mandate that a certified plumber carry out this work, so you’ll have to reach out to a plumber or a gas grill installation company in your area. Given how dangerous a gas leak can be, gas lines and connections are highly regulated, so you’ll need a professional’s help and a permit to install a gas grill.

Any gas pipe can leak, especially if it’s old or isn’t properly maintained. However, even with a shovel, plastic pipes are more easily damaged by impact. That’s why it’s so important to have gas lines marked by the utility company before you begin digging for any reason. Some metal pipes, like black pipes, galvanized steel, and copper, aren’t as easily damaged by impact but can degrade over the years, leading to leaks.

Temporarily capping a gas line—for renovations or during travel—doesn’t require a permit. If you plan to remove a gas line and cap it completely, you’ll need to apply and pay for one through your town or city. Depending on your region and its local codes, you may pay between $25 and $100. To avoid a gas leak or other hazards, some cities take the job of permanently adjusting or capping a gas line out of the hands of homeowners. Instead, they require hiring a professional gas plumber.

A few factors determine the amount of time it takes to convert from an oil to a gas furnace, mainly adding in the gas lines, updating your appliances, removing the old oil system, and installing a chimney line. These projects can vary, but you should expect them to take at least two or three days to complete.
