"These guys are rude scam artists. Randomly knocked on our door uninvited in December to offer a free estimate. We negotiated by phone the next day and hired them for a portion of the driveway. Their crew not only did a poor job filling a small hole, but they actually made another one on the opposite side and admitted on site to me that their machine caused it, and now there is also a slant that collects water. Rich and Rob verbally and in writing on the job paperwork stated they would come back the following week to fix it. Never showed. Did not answer my calls until the next month when they told me asphalt plants were shut down until Spring. Well, come Spring and they still do not reply to my texts or calls. I am very disappointed that I paid them in full and had faith that they would keep their word to complete the job, but I feel I will never hear from them again. Homeowners beware... just look elsewhere."

Asphalt and tarmac are not the same thing. Traditional tarmac, short for tarmacadam, uses tar as a binder to hold crushed stone together. Give your driveway at least 24 to 48 hours to dry. After 72 hours, you can walk or park on it, but tread lightly. It might look solid, but it’s still soft and can be easily damaged. It can take 30 days to a year for an asphalt driveway to fully cure, so avoid parking extremely heavy vehicles on it. For the best results, always check with your contractor for their advice. Different mixes and weather conditions can affect curing times, so it’s worth waiting longer if it means a driveway that lasts.

Building a road on a slope requires careful planning and will normally require a drainage system underneath to prevent flooding and damage to the road over time. Your professional may lengthen your road to create switchbacks if the slope directly to your home is too steep, as there are regulations for maximum road slope. The drainage system will help prevent runoff from the higher side of the slope from damaging the asphalt or concrete.
