"Had wade install a Mitsubishi Mini Split with 4 ceiling units on the 2nd floor to assist with heating and cooling issues. The whole process was easy from beginning to end with very clear and quick communication. Also had them repair an existing system at the same time that was quick, hassle free and got me fixed up properly. I want to especially thank Lonnie, Mr Wade and the Installers for their expertise and professionalism along the way. I am extremely satisfied with the Mitsubishi units that were installed and would highly recommend their services!!!"

"The installers were punctual. They were very professional and friendly. They cleaned everything up before they left. There was no mess. I was very satisfied with the whole process. It's only been a few weeks since the installation so I am not able to comment on the longevity of how the units run over years or the service department."

"I purchased the diagnostic service call from angie's list on Sunday, and on Monday morning Brian called me and came over the same day...He was extremely prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable...he took out the time to thoroughly explain the reason behind the leak, a low level of refrigerant, and fixed it in no time...he returned the next day to install a drainage pump for the condensed water...All was done very professionally and cheerfully, always explaining every step in detail.....aside from his professionalism, Brian is a very kind and helpful guy, and I can honestly say that he was by far the best contractor I ever hired....the job turned our great, and I'm enjoying my cool house in this heat...Thank you so much for a great job, Brian....I will call you in the fall to check my furnace for the winter"

"We had to call several times to get someone to book and appt. When the apt was booked they did not show up on time and we had to reschedule.
when they did show up the job was done, but too many other things and the cost increased to about $300 which was not expected for a new house.

"It went well. Lloyd arrived on time and provided an estimate of the service, including both $ and time he expected it to take to complete. He came back to complete the work. A little over a week later, he came back because the fireplace wasn't working quite as I had hoped. He changed some of the wiring so now it works perfectly."

"The provider did all that was promised, finished the job in about 8 workdays though the job stretched out over 2 weeks.  A few days were lost to weather.  Crew was friendly and cheerful, answered all our questions during the job.  They arrived every workday at about 7:30 AM, usually done for the day by 1 PM.  All work was done to our satisfaction.  They even improvised downspouts to lead water away from the foundation to correct an occasional problem of water intrusion into the basement in heavy rains.  Company rep was available every day to check job and hear any comments from us.  They were very responsive to us and knowledgeable about their business.  I simply cannot say enough for the quality of their work.  I can very easily recommend them to anyone who needs new roofing or gutter repair.  I would not hesitate to contact them for any construction job we might have in the future

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

The radiators closest in proximity to the boiler heating system will heat up first. Radiators in rooms farther away from the boiler will take longer to heat up and may be the coolest rooms in the house. The radiator unit itself should heat up evenly; otherwise, there may be trapped air inside it.

Hydronic and standard electric baseboard heaters differ in how they operate, their cost, and their performance. Standard convection heaters use electric coils to heat the air directly, while hydronic heaters warm a contained liquid like water or oil, which then radiates heat into the room.

In terms of cost and efficiency, hydronic heaters usually have a higher upfront price but are more energy-efficient and cheaper to run over time. This is because the heated liquid retains warmth, allowing the heater to continue providing heat for a while after the thermostat turns it off. In contrast, electric heaters provide heat more quickly but are less efficient.

Ultimately, the better choice depends on your priorities. If you need a room to heat up fast and have a lower initial budget, an electric heater might be suitable. If long-term energy savings are more important and you don't mind a slower heat-up time, a hydronic heater is likely the better option.

The best time to buy home heating oil is in the summer when the demand is lowest, as the prices are usually lower. However, waiting until the summer to buy is often unavoidable unless you install a separate storage tank. If you have the space for a second tank, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $4,000 for the oil tank replacement or installation, depending on the capacity and location. You could quickly recuperate these costs, though, by stocking up on heating oil in the summer and avoiding deliveries in the winter when prices are highest.

The primary differences between a heat pump and a boiler are their function and how they produce heat. A heat pump is a versatile system that provides both heating and cooling by moving ambient air and altering its temperature. In contrast, a boiler is solely a heating system, often working with a furnace or AC unit as part of a larger HVAC system. In terms of heat production, a heat pump generates heat more slowly and at a lower temperature, requiring a large convector for distribution. A boiler, however, produces a large amount of high-temperature heat that it emits through smaller radiators.

You can use a boiler and a furnace, although it’s not common to use both for whole-house heating. For example, your furnace may take care of HVAC heating through your vents, while a boiler powers your floor-based radiant heating in the bathrooms. Mixing and matching like this gives homeowners a variety of heating possibilities.
