"It started out pretty good. But progressively got worse. The lower level cabinets were not level so the people who put in the countertop had to put a lot of shims in to make things work. Fuget’s Contracting workers did not show up on time. They would say 10am and show up close to 3pm. This happened more times than once. They have no respect for people’s time or their own. I stupidly paid them in full what i thought was the next to last day of work, and they never came back to finish the job. Plumbing is faulty and the sink leaks; Dishwasher is not put in properly; part of the back splash, unfinished. Drawer pulls put in upside down. I now have to hire someone else to finish the job."

One of the most significant downsides to stucco is the installation cost, which is higher than that of many other siding options because getting it to look clean and professional is a labor-intensive process. Stucco can also absorb water, making it an unsuitable option for siding in areas that see excessive rainfall. While vinyl siding's lifespan of 20 to 40 years is impressive for the cost, other siding options can actually last much longer. Stucco siding can last 50 to 80 years when properly maintained and is only a bit more expensive than vinyl. Fiber cement is similar in that it’s a little more expensive but lasts more than twice as long. Stone and brick last the longest, often more than 100 years, but they’re the most expensive siding materials.
The decision to repair or replace stucco depends on the extent of the damage. If the culprit is dirt, stains, or small cracks, your stucco will benefit from a deep clean, quick repair, and possibly a paint job. If you notice large cracks or peeling, it’s time to call a professional to fix your stucco. They can guide you in deciding whether your issue is simple enough to repair or whether severe problems—like water damage and mold—require removing and replacing sections of your stucco, or the entire thing.
On average, EIFS costs more than traditional stucco, both due to its complex materials and tricky installation. You'll pay between $7 and $9 per square foot for traditional stucco installation and $8 to $14 per square foot for EIFS. Installing stucco over brick can add longevity and durability to your siding while protecting it from deterioration due to exposure to the elements.
