Thankfully my son & I were fine, no loss of power & my car/house were undamaged. After a restless night & nonstop wind, morning came. I contacted Pocono Lawn King to see if someone could come out. Joe, & his staff were on their way to another job, but said they’d be by in 30 mins. After they arrived, they stayed & took the unsafe trees down. They returned in the pm to cut up & chip the trees & clean up the debris. The crew was knowledgeable, professional, efficient & worked together like a well oiled machine. They did as much as they could working non-stop until dark. The team returned the following weekend w/a bucket truck & chipper to finish up. I highly recommend PLK - you won’t be disappointed. "

Whether you grind or dig up and remove your tree stump depends on your landscaping goals. Using a stump grinder leaves the root system in place for it to decompose over time, whereas digging up the tree stump removes the roots and the stump. Overall, stump grinding is a far simpler process since you won’t need to deal with the roots. Stump removal will make your yard look like a demolition site, but you’ll have an easier time replanting in the same place as your former tree.

Deciduous shade trees (the type of trees whose leaves fall off in autumn) need to be pruned in late winter—between February and March. That’s because it’s easier to find and remove sick or dead branches when no leaves are present. And wounds close and heal faster in colder temperatures so pruning them at this time also makes them less prone to infection.

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.
