"The initial assessment and quote was great. When I called I was in touch with a Michael and he came out gave us a quote and was very quick to respond when I would email him with a questions. Once we picked our roof, I was told we would get a call 4-6 weeks. After 6 weeks I had to email Michael 2 or 3 times asking if someone was going to call cause we never got a call. Then in Jan when it was 0 we got a call they wanted to come and replace the roof. I really did not feel comfortable with them replacing the roof with it being 0 and snow on the roof, Plus I work from home and I am on the phone all day, I made it very clear I would need a weeks notice to schedule so I could clear my calendar. I had asked them to please call my cell not my husbands, we had them call 3 times wanting to come out the next day, finally we were going to have a nice day 30's I said fine, I was luckily able to clear my work schedule to do other things besides be on the phone. They did the work in 2. 5 days, when they were done it was a Friday night and we go rains my husband went to look in the attic and it was leaking we called the on call person who was GREAT!! he came out within 30 min and went up in the pouring rain and took picture, the original workers forgot to seal the chimney. The gentlemen that came out, I think he went by D was so sweet and sealed it and gave us his cell in case we had any other issues that weekend, prior to Monday. We come to now. The originally team did not clean up the mess in the back yard with plastic and debris in our yard and there is a spot on the porch that is leaking we told them we wanted them to look at. We had called Ryan who set up the work and he does not have a voice mail my husband called numerous times then finally called the secretary who gave him Tom to talk to, we voiced our concerns and what we wanted done. It has been 2 weeks and no one has gotten back to us, they originally stated they were out and cleaned up but no one let us know and there is still garbage from them in the back yard and the porch roof still leaks. Needless to say we will not pay the remainder till these things are fixed. I am very disappointed with the follow up with the team we got. They then went on to do our neighbors roof, I feel like they hurry to get the job done and then on to the next, no follow up."

We are a local family business with 3 generations of quality service. Since 1967
"This contractor is usually booked reasonably far ahead, so they may not be able to do the work for a couple of months, but they did quote me pricing fairly quickly 7 were not out of line. There is plenty of cheaper labor in this area but I've had multiple experiences of being less than satisfied with the work. When the Dilts guys came, however, they were fast, efficient, & very user friendly. We had no issue with trusting them if we had to be away from the house either. These guys didn't eff around, they just got it done and the quality was quite good. That's probably why they are too busy to jump right on something. But we thought they were, in the end, worth the wait."

The average cost to install solar panels is around $26,600, and most homeowners pay between $4,500 and $53,000. Keep in mind that these prices don’t consider the federal investment tax credit (ITC), which can effectively reduce those costs by up to 30%. The price you can expect to pay for solar panel installation depends on the size of the system, where you live, the type and brand of panels, and the labor costs. Get price quotes from at least three solar companies in your area to find the best deal.
In most states, solar installers need to be licensed and insured as solar professionals, although some states don’t have specific requirements for installers. You can use our state licensing tool to check if an installer you’re considering hiring holds the proper licensing. No matter where you live, a member of your solar panel installation company must be a certified electrician to connect your panels to your home and the electric grid.
There are a few qualifying questions you should ask a local solar panel company before hiring them:
Will you handle permits for the installation?
Does your total price include the equipment and labor?
How long do you expect the installation process to take?
What kind of workmanship warranty do you include with your installations?
Who should I contact if I have a problem with my system after installation?
Do you install the panels or outsource the work to third parties?
Will you file for solar incentives for me?
In most cases, yes, solar panels are well worth the investment. Going solar with your home’s energy is expensive, but, in most states, the panels will pay for themselves by reducing your electric bills. Solar panels don’t produce greenhouse gasses or other pollutants, meaning you can feel good about using this renewable energy source to power your home. Plus, installing solar panels can boost your home value, helping your profit off your next home sale.
Yes, solar panel installation will require permits. The required permits will depend on where you live, as some states and cities have solar-specific permits, while others only require electrical permits to connect to the grid. In either case, it’s best to hire a reputable solar installer in your area, as a representative should handle all of the necessary permitting for you and will include the cost of the permits in your initial solar estimate.
