"Originally bought coupon for $99 for $250 of roofing in fall, Steve Toth came out in fall and checked roof saw that it was still in good shape, he suggested the best time to replace skylights was in spring. Called him early in March to make arrangements for when my wife was on vacation early April, called on Friday the 3rd  to ask if Saturday was good with us, came right on time, was neat, cleaned up afterwards. He did a very old school type of installation using copper flashing, we are every impressed...

"This was basically an emergency rescue; our previous "roofer" was clearly doing the job so badly that we had to tell him to stop.  So, Western PA came within a day, looked at the roof, shook their heads, and gave us a remarkably good quote, in a situation where they knew we weren't in a position to argue.  We appreciate that!
They we able to start just 6 days after our first call, which was really good, because we didn't really have a roof at that point.  They were up and working within 10 minutes of arrival, and they clearly knew what they were doing.  They were fast and efficient on both parts of the roof; they had a 5-man team, and they clearly worked together a lot.
The first day was not a particularly good day to be roofing: periodic showers.    They stuck it out until it started pouring, and by that time, they'd gotten the main roof waterproof (although still incomplete).   The next day, they show up at 8:00 am, and the hammering started by 8:30.   Everything went smoothly; the lines of the roof are straight, the flashing looks good.   Toward afternoon, they found that the previous "roofer" had installed the top section of two new skylights onto old bottom sections, and they weren't quite compatible: there wasn't enough height to tuck the flashing under the top sections' overhang.  But they were able to do a bit of carpentry to lift the bottom sections, and they had the roof finished by mid afternoon, and cleaned it all up nicely.
They really know how to do slate roofs.    (And, we've found that a lot of roofers don't, including many that think they do.)

"Zach is a hardworking and honest contractor. He replaced some leaking skylights, and repaired a section of roof that was leaking around another. He and his crew put in more than a full days work staying late to finish the job. His price was very fair and I would definitely hire him again. Of note, he also knows his limitations and did not attempt to work on a larger flat roof and gave me some recommendations for someone to call for that. Much better than working on it and having a bad outcome down the road. I appreciated this honesty."
