"Dan's crew were excellent.  The bathroom needed repair prior to painting; he really worked with me.  Next, the  livingroom ceiling needed to be replaced with sheetrock, trim needed to be removed, some furniture needed to be moved..  Everything was completed in a professional manner; plastic was covering a bay window, the entrance between the livingroom and dinningroom; the molding was carefully removed, the sheetrock was installed, taped and painted.  Dan and his crew continued with two coats of paint in the livingroom, up the stairs and landing.  They were awesome.  The bathroom looks great.  He's currently working on another job for me.  And yes, I did use Dan again--I was pleased with everything.  During the first job, I was very sick but his crew took over andwere very professional with everything.

"New Era Pro has been completing projects at my home for the past 6-7 years. They have rebuilt my porch, painted the interior and exterior of our home as well as redesigned my backyard. Francisco and staff have always been courteous, respectful and very efficient with the work they do. Francisco and Junior are excellent and pays great attention to detail. They always clean up when they are done and respectful of my home. Francisco is excellent with returning phone calls and resolving issues when they arrive. He also make great suggestions. I feel they a truly great craftsman and are definitely PROS. New Era Pro has a customer for life."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

The staining or painting process involves cleaning the deck, sanding surfaces, applying a primer (if needed), and carefully applying stain or paint for an even, lasting finish.

Deciding whether to stain or paint a pool deck depends on your budget, desired look, and the deck's material. Both options can work. Paint offers a wider variety of color options, provides excellent water resistance, and can last longer. However, it requires a primer and can eventually fade or peel. Stain is often cheaper, easier to apply, and penetrates the wood for a more natural look and longer-lasting finish. It also has great water resistance. The downsides are fewer color options and the need for a sealant. The choice can also depend on the deck material; for example, staining may be a better option for concrete as it bonds well and lasts longer than paint.

Whether you can paint over your existing paint depends on what’s on there. Most of the time, you’ll want to sand down or scrape off the paint that’s currently coating your surface. Epoxy paint, for example, won’t let new paint stick to the surface. Latex paint is more forgiving and will accept a new coat, but a primer is recommended if you’re switching colors.

While the answer varies based on weather, 10 a.m. is a good time to start painting. The dew will have dried, meaning there’s no moisture on the house, and the temperature will likely be moderate and the sunlight less direct. Starting mid-morning should also give you enough daylight and pleasant weather to work on the job for several hours.

Pricing depends on prep work, paint/stain choice, area size, scaffolding needs, and detailed trim inclusions like precision-balanced windowsills.
