Both quartz and granite are durable, long-lasting countertop materials that can last for decades, potentially the lifetime of your kitchen, with proper maintenance. Solid surface countertops are fairly resilient. You can use soapy water or ammonia-based cleaners. Solid surface material is nonporous, so there’s no need for sealing.
