"Dino was responsive and made it easy to have the glass replaced in two foggy window panes. He came out to measure, gave an accurate estimate for when the glass would be ready, and his crew that came out to do the replacements was professional and did a great job and cleaned up afterwards."

"When they came for the estimate I explained that I didn't want the floor done. He was not pushy, listened to what I wanted, and took very good notes. He took me to the tile company, which was quite a distance from my home, and let me look at the tile choices. He arranged all the ordering of the supplies (faucets, towel bars, tile, etc.) for me. After I had picked everything out, I decided to change the floor. There wasn't a problem doing that. The person who did the work was very nice and worked with me. He answered all of my questions. He offered good suggestions on the tile design. He told me everything up front and it looks beautiful. I was very impressed with the company. They accommodated my schedule."

"

I was very pleased with the work SL Contractors performed at my home. They completely remodeled my Kitchen and Bathroom.  They were running a special on Kitchens and Bathrooms, 25% off if I had them both done at the same time.  So I took advantage of the savings, which was a considerable amount.  I was not really sure how I wanted my kitchen to look. They had a designer go over many options as far as products, materials and floor plans. The designer drew a complete interactive blueprint just like on HGTV.  Complete with colors, cabinets, flooring, window treatment, the whole complete kitchen.  I was able to really get a good idea of what my finished kitchen would look like.  They completed the job on time just as it looked in the blueprint.  They took great care not damage or dirty the rest of my home.

?My adorable bathroom?.  The completed job is breathtaking.  They removed a wall to enlarge the room, to change my three piece bathroom to a four piece.  We had no tub.  They installed a walk-in shower with tile surround and floor to ceiling custom glass doors.  They also installed a soaker tub.  They included all the plumbing and electrical work too.  I feel that the price that I was charged is more than fair for the amount of work they had to do to give me the beautiful kitchen and bathroom.

"We met with several contractors before choosing Creative Bath & Kitchen.  We needed someone with a vision to change the layout of our kitchen.  Eric came  up with by far the best option.  He has a great vision, and was extremely creative in the design he came up with, as well as helping us choose all of our kitchen cabinets, counters, tile, paint, fixtures.  The kitchen turned out exactly how we expected, and we are very detail-oriented people.  The process did take longer than expected, HOWEVER, I have worked with so many contractors for residential and commercial jobs, and the process always takes longer than expected.  I certainly would not hold that against them.  We are truly happy with our creative and beautiful kitchen, and give all of the credit to Eric for having the vision for the major layout change.  Thanks Les & Eric!

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Most installations take 1-3 days, depending on the number of blocks and customization requirements.

Heavy glass tends to be more expensive than thin glass because it is stronger and more durable. In most cases, ¼-inch-thick glass is ideal for mirrors, and ⅛-inch-thick glass is ideal for residential windows. Heavier glass isn’t always necessary, and can be more challenging to hang or install. Work with a local window installation pro for replacement or new construction windows.

Glass block windows come in various patterns and styles that offer privacy and unique aesthetics. Frosted or textured glass diffuses light and enhances privacy. Wave-pattern glass blocks imitate ocean waves with flowing lines. Ice-glass blocks resemble cracked ice. Fluted glass blocks feature parallel vertical grooves, adding texture and depth. Clear glass blocks, similar to glass Coke bottles, offer transparency with some distortion and may have smooth surfaces or subtle textures, adding visual interest.

Installing glass block windows has benefits and disadvantages, as with most materials. The pros and cons can vary depending on the type of glass block and the window location.

Pros

  • Maintains privacy while letting light into the bathroom

  • Energy efficient

  • Sealed to prevent drafts

  • Aesthetically pleasing

  • Strong and secure

Cons

  • Costly to install

  • Challenging installation

  • Challenging repair

You can still see vaguely into some types of glass block windows at night. Although there won’t be clear definitions, passersby may still see shapes, shadows, and movement through the glass. If you want complete privacy, consider installing diamond glass block windows rather than the typical clear or wavy glass blocks.
