"We chose Greenstone Gardens over other landscapers, because we liked the owner's explanation of the services he'd recommend and what they provide. He was very friendly and professional. They came out when they said they would, and did a good job removing the existing moss and poor lawn, adding new soil and grading it, and slit seeding the entire lawn. So everything up to this point, I would give them an A in all categories. But, the last step was to spread straw over the lawn to keep the seed down and to keep moisture in the lawn. They didn't bring enough straw and ran out, leaving many areas of the lawn barely covered at all. Okay, that's understandable, and I would still give them an A if they came back right away to put more down. The foreman said he would come back that evening and put down more straw. But he never returned, leaving our lawn without enough straw to prevent the new soil and seed from washing away. That night and the next morning we received a very heavy rain. The rain washed away a lot of the seeds and new soil. I could see it running off our lawn, into the driveway, and down into the street. So I called the foreman that morning and left a message, telling him that it was washing away, and that we needed more straw. But the foreman never returned my call. I had to call the foreman several more times, and finally called the main office number. Instead of the owner of the company taking over and fixing the problem, he kept having us deal with the foreman, who wasn't very helpful. Finally, after talking with the owner, he got the foreman to come over and put down more seed and straw in the areas in which it had washed away. Of course, that was a few weeks after the original seeding, so we had to continue watering three times a day and waiting to mow for an additional few weeks. So, in summary, the original work they did was very good, but they ruined it by not putting enough straw down, failing to come back to put more down, not answering our calls, and by the owner requiring his foreman to handle the issue instead of fixing the problem himself. In the end, the lawn turned out pretty well. I just don't understand their lack of responsiveness. For what I paid, I think we deserved a little better service."
