"I signed up to have a modular log home built on an existing foundation. The builder had a number of specifications that needed to be met to get the foundation ready for the new house. I contacted 8 other companies, but no one could help me with my long list of tasks. When I finally got ahold of Highlander Waterproofing, I started by telling them I was a problem child. I listed all the work that needed to be done and Mike told me that nothing on my list sounded sounded scary. I got a couple of visits from Mario, the manager, and Mike, the senior engineer, and one of their senior job bosses. They were all knowledgeable, helpful, positive, and suggested that I use steel supports instead of concrete to save space. Work started in August when Dewey and JT started knocking off the top 2 courses of block. "The Gents" - Dewey (the job boss) Devon, Jimmy, Matt, and Dave - did wonderful work. Because of Murphy's Law, we had to knock some walls down and rebuild them because of bowing, and we ended up adding an internal French Drain. They set rebar, poured tons of concrete, dug footers, put up steel support beams, installed glass block windows, put down sill plates, and rebuilt the front where the garage doors will be. I cannot even begin to say how pleased I am with the work they did. And they were a lot of fun to boot! They let me video them daily, tease them mercilessly, and they had the good grace to laugh when my dog made off with their breakfast jerky. There is still some work to do when the house actually gets here in April - insulating the outside wall, backfilling, putting the sump pumps in, rebuilding the center wall, and digging footers for the porch. I have absolute confidence in Highlander Waterproofing and "The Gents." I would recommend them highly and with no reservations to anyone who needs foundation work. I will add to this post with the final pictures in April."

"This is the second time we have hired Groundworks (formerly Bakers Waterproofing) to perform work at our house. The first project was in 2017 when we had the waterproofing system installed. We called Groundworks a few weeks ago to get an estimate on lifting our front sidewalk and stairs that have sunk a lot over the past year. The steps had sunk to the point that the railings were not connected to the house, making it very unsafe for anyone coming into the front of our home. Aaron Lenker & Corbin Gillichbover were very professional and knowledgeable when they arrived to assess our sidewalk and steps to lift them. They left our sidewalk and the surrounding area better than when they arrived. Our steps and sidewalk are now level, and the railings are securely attached to the house again. We are thrilled! I would highly recommend Groundworks if you need a basement waterproofing system or any concrete lifted."

"Turkey mound pump failed. We told American Pump we had an emergency situation and they got right on it - onsite within two hours. Fixed the pump, replaced the float, and pumped the septic tank. "I knew the pump had to be pulled out of the ground. I knew the two or three things that could be the culprit. I just needed someone to do the job that wouldn’t take advantage of me financially, knew the ins and outs of what had to be done, and would do the task quickly, efficiently, completely, competently, and correctly. It’s not a lot to ask or expect from a professional tradesman. Bob Walter, the owner/operator of Pocono Mountain Plumbing told me when he’d be there and said he’d call when he was on the way. He did just that. I said I’d meet him there as I was running home from my office to let him in. When I pulled up he was already at work on the problem. He wasn’t sitting in his van waiting for me; he wasn’t mulling around or on the phone making other arrangements. He was already doing his job. His truck was already unloaded, his assistant was already setting up and gathering the tools they’d need, and the well was already partially disassembled... and I wasn’t even there yet. After a short introduction (as well as to his helper/nephew, Danny), I unlocked the house, and within five minutes the situation was diagnosed and repairs had begun. Bob didn’t stop explaining what he was doing throughout the entire process. Just from his description of what was happening and his actions as he performed them, he left no question as to his expertise, his thoroughness, what needed to be done, what was required and what was optional/recommended, how long it would take, and what it would cost. He pointed out what had been done incorrectly the last time it was “fixed,” and he remedied those things as he went along in his task. Not a moment was wasted (not the least of which was because it was 25 degrees outside). As a result of the way he works, what I envisioned as potentially a five to six hour job, was completed in under two hours: completely, correctly, and meticulously. Small things that others might have overlooked to cut corners were done (e.g. disinfecting the well, adding extra reinforcements of electrical tape at the joints connecting the pump and along the length of the pipe, etc.). As quickly as they showed up, they were gone - the job analyzed, quoted, performed, cleaned up, and paid for in less time than I thought it would take to just evaluate the situation. If there’s a higher accolade to be paid to a reliable and honest tradesman, I don’t know what it is other than to say that I have rarely had the pleasure of dealing with someone like Bob Walter. His demeanor, expertise, and sincerity are obvious. He is a true professional, and I wouldn’t hesitate to call him first and immediately with any plumbing or heating question."
