Bob responded to my emergency call immediately. I was surprised at how quickly he completed the work too - - I think it took him less than two hours. Bob is professional, and explains everything he is going to do. He guarantees his work, and equipment he installs. Bob also identified another potential problem, but assured it was something to keep an eye on, and did not require any work to be done. I appreciate his honesty.

The unit is running well and the service

I knew the pump had to be pulled out of the ground. I knew the two or three things that could be the culprit. I just needed someone to do the job that wouldn’t take advantage of me financially, knew the ins and outs of what had to be done, and would do the task quickly, efficiently, completely, competently, and correctly. It’s not a lot to ask or expect from a professional tradesman. Bob Walter, the owner/operator of Pocono Mountain Plumbing told me when he’d be there and said he’d call when he was on the way. He did just that. I said I’d meet him there as I was running home from my office to let him in. When I pulled up he was already at work on the problem. He wasn’t sitting in his van waiting for me; he wasn’t mulling around or on the phone making other arrangements. He was already doing his job. His truck was already unloaded, his assistant was already setting up and gathering the tools they’d need, and the well was already partially disassembled... and I wasn’t even there yet. After a short introduction (as well as to his helper/nephew, Danny), I unlocked the house, and within five minutes the situation was diagnosed and repairs had begun. Bob didn’t stop explaining what he was doing throughout the entire process. Just from his description of what was happening and his actions as he performed them, he left no question as to his expertise, his thoroughness, what needed to be done, what was required and what was optional/recommended, how long it would take, and what it would cost. He pointed out what had been done incorrectly the last time it was “fixed,” and he remedied those things as he went along in his task. Not a moment was wasted (not the least of which was because it was 25 degrees outside). As a result of the way he works, what I envisioned as potentially a five to six hour job, was completed in under two hours: completely, correctly, and meticulously. Small things that others might have overlooked to cut corners were done (e.g. disinfecting the well, adding extra reinforcements of electrical tape at the joints connecting the pump and along the length of the pipe, etc.). As quickly as they showed up, they were gone - the job analyzed, quoted, performed, cleaned up, and paid for in less time than I thought it would take to just evaluate the situation. If there’s a higher accolade to be paid to a reliable and honest tradesman, I don’t know what it is other than to say that I have rarely had the pleasure of dealing with someone like Bob Walter. His demeanor, expertise, and sincerity are obvious. He is a true professional, and I wouldn’t hesitate to call him first and immediately with any plumbing or heating question.

Bob is a true professional.  Came right on time, checked to see if my heater could be fixed before replacing it... it couldn't.  He brought 2 sizes with him, told me what I needed for the size of my house.  fixed the "pipe works" that the previous owner had done.  My house was spotless when he left.

I've known Bob Walter, our plumber ever since we bought our summer home in the Pocono mountains, PA, 15 years ago.  We keep using him, because he has always been reliable and efficiently corrects whatever problem we have. Normally, we ask him to help when we close up our Pocono home at the end of December and he evacuates the water from all pipes so we can turn off the heat without experiencing water freezing problems (This past year, neighbors tell us the temperature stayed in single digits for almost two weeks straight)  In the summer, when we escape Florida's heat, he comes over to reconnect the fittings and makes sure everything works right. 
Through the years, he has performed many small repairs as well, as today, when he diagnosed a problem with our garage hose bib, and replaced a broken shutoff valve.

GREAT. WHEN BOB FIRST CAME OUT. HE SURVED THE PROBLEM & THOUGHT HE WOULD TRY TO FIRST INSTALLING THE EXPANSION TANK. BUT THE HOT WATER HEATER WAS STILL LEAKING. WHEN I CALLED HIM BACK ON 1/14/15 @ 10:30. HE CAME BACK  THE SAME DAY & INSTALLED THE NEW HOT WATER HEATER & DECUCTED THE PRICE OF INSTALLING THE EXPANSION TANK. OFF THE BILL.( ON HEARD OF IN THE POCONOS)

Bob is great, I call him for all my plumbing and heating needs.  They are very knowledgeable about your house.  I have used his service for the last 8 years and they are always professional and friendly.  He calls back right away every time which is important when you have no heat and kids in the house.  He also goes way above and beyond the call of duty and gives advice and helps out when he can.  We love this company!!!

This is my second review of this company.  Just like my first experience with Pocono Mountain Plumbing,  Bob definitely came through for us again.  We needed an emergency call when we discovered we had no water on the morning of 7/16/14.  One call to Bob and I was assured that even though he was in the middle of a big job, he would make sure he got to us before the end of the day so that we could have water.
Good to his word, he and his assistant showed up around 4:00 PM and informed me that since he had done the work on our new well pump 2 1/2 years ago, he was going to stand behind the work he had done.  We did have a one year warranty, but Bob being Bob didn't think that was fair,so he offered to take responsibility for anything that involved his work. You heard me, HE WAS WILLING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS WORK.
Bob and Ronnie found the problem right away, discovering that some of the wires had become frayed, but they didn't stop there. Bob decided to pull the entire length of tubing and wiring in our well to make sure there were  no other problems. No big deal right?  Our well is 400 ft plus and they pulled out every inch checking for damage the whole way.  Bob also decided to sanitize our well while he was here. Just another little perk that this man thinks about when he is working for you.
Just as Bob and Ronnie was putting everything back in place, a hissing sound was detected. Yup, sure enough there was a tiny little hole in the brass fitting that couples with the underground piping back to the house.  Ironically, this was the exact kind of job Bob was doing earlier in the day, requiring a backhoe for the repair.  I guess Bob saw the look on my face and realized we just weren't prepared for that kind of expense. (We are retired and on a fixed income)  He told me not  to worry that he would be able to do something that would give us a temporary fix.  He couldn't guarantee how long it would work, but he knew we would have enough time to manage our budget  enabling us to be able to afford the permanent repair. As he said, "it might work for six weeks or six months, but for now you're good to go"
I don't know many contractors  who would put the needs of their customers before their own best interest, but Bob is just that kind of person and business man. The total bill for the work, they were here for 2 1/2 hours, was $655, BUT Bob gave us a $200 discount.  This, I know, was done out of compassion for our situation at the moment.  Again, if you know a better businessman, a more professional businessman and more compassionate businessman, then call him when you need a plumber,  But if you don't know a plumber like that, and I doubt that you do, call Bob.  You will never regret it.

Look, I'm not sure what to say.  I used this company for thirteen years and found them absolutely excellent, so much so that I was going to contract them to remodel two bathrooms.  I priced everything and made a list that I presented to Bob Walker in August 2012.  I heard nothing from him for months and finally telephoned to see what was going on.  Although the telephone number was still operative I never received a call back to the two times I tried.  I have no idea if they are still in business or been abducted by aliens or whatever.  I can't think of a thing I did to alienate them but there you have it.  so I don't know how to say anything about their reliability or quality.  It seems a strange was to operated a business by ignoring contracts in the thousands of dollars.

We had an issue with water on the floor around the water heater.  Unfortunately when it happened Pocono Plumbing was on vacation.  We had to call some other plumbers to come out and take a look.  We had two companies come out who told us we needed a new water heater and we got estimates around $1200 and $1400. 

We decided that we wanted to wait for him to come back to find out what his quote would be.  When we had Pocono Plumbing come out he told us we did not need a new water heater and it was a back up issue that he could fix fairly easy.  He fixed the problem for $150 and we have never had any problems with it. 

He is a great plumber and very honest.

Air conditioner was fixed in less than one hour.

He's very professional. He's reliable. He returns calls right away. I would use him again in a heartbeat. I have used him quite a few times already.

I have used their services for the past 15 years. Robert Walker is the owner of the company. The services that he has provided has been perfect. He has done a lot of exterior remodeling for me. They are punctual and honest. They know what they are doing. They are competent and friendly. They are responsive and reliable. I think their prices are also fair. Their quality of work is excellent.

We had no water. They responded very fast. Diagnosed the problem and fixed it in a very short time.

They were wonderful- very knowledgeable and quick. I'm happy with their work.

We had Bob Walter of Pocono Mountain Plumbing return to our home on January 4th to complete the job of replacing our well pump for us.  Bob had given us an estimate of $1545. to $1745 to replace the pump in our 400 ft well.  As promised, Bob and his assistant showed up and began the tedious task of pulling up all 400 feet of well housing.  Much to his horror, and ours, he discovered that the original plumber that did our well work had installed a 1/2 HP  plastic housing pump.  No wonder we couldn't get more than 8 years out of it.  However, as will happen, Bob also discovered that the wiring in our well also needed replacing.  He suggested that the 12 gauge wire needed to be replaced with 10 gauge wire to accommodate the new pump.  Price:   $700.

So here's the breakdown of Bob's work:   Pull out old well pump, replace with 1 HP Stainless Steel well pump complete with fittings. Replace wire with 10 gauge wire from pump to top of well.  Install wire guards.  (We only had two for 400 ft).  Flush out well.  Sanitize well.    TOTAL COST:  $2330.00

Considering that another plumber had wanted $2400 just for the pump replacement and $1200 if the wire needed to be replaced, I think we got a fair price and excellent work from Pocono Mountain Plumbing.  They were fast, efficient, considerate and  neat.  You can't go wrong dealing with this reputable company.

Everything went very well. The initial response to my call was very quick and professional.
He showed up on time, did what he had to do quickly and efficiently.
I live in a rural community, and their minimum cal to this area is one hour @ $85/hr. Understood.
The total repair took about five minutes. And he asked if there was anything else that needed being done as far as plumbing was concerned. And he would have been glad to do it at no extra charge above the minimum. 
Will definitely be my first call in the future.
