Small jobs welcome

"We bought a home in Abbottstown, PA and wanted to have the carpets cleaned before moving our furniture into the house. Darren did a FANTASTIC job and even arrived early. He worked fast and efficiently and after the carpets dried, they looked great! We would definitely recommend DND Carpet Cleaning and WILL use their services again in future."

"To the "Ariana Family". We are SO pleased with our clean carpets. You did wonderful in cleaning both. But beyond that, your friendly service is the BEST gift to your customers. Your work directly with us was awesome. But even more awesome is your work your customer doesn't necissarily see, behind the scene. But know that service shines through, too. Like when Predrum and Tyler delivered and laid the carpet. My husband, Kenny, is disabled so the rearrangement of our furniture was impossible without these gentlemen. And, we heard about the "direction" they got from "Mom"...and your recommendation for padding. WOW! We are loving walking across that plush feeling! What a great family you are! Thx! "These guys were great. Very responsive and work was beautiful. I had new carpet installed, ceiling repair and painted, walls painted, exterior power washed, deck repaired and painted plus a few other odds and ends. I was very happy and will be keeping them on my phone for any further projects."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

It is not recommended to install or stretch a carpet without a power stretcher. Skipping essential tools like a power stretcher and a knee kicker will likely result in an improper installation, leaving you with wrinkles, creases, and an unappealing final look. While a knee kicker can provide some limited stretching for thinner carpets, it is not a proper substitute. Attempting to stretch a carpet by hand or with homemade tools can also shorten its lifespan. For the best results, you should buy or rent a stretcher. If you do not want to use a stretcher, it is better to hire a professional for the installation.

No, it isn’t less expensive to install carpet compared to vinyl floors. The cost of installing carpet can range between $3 and $11 per square foot, so it falls just over the cost of installing vinyl flooring, at an average of $3 to $7 per square foot. High-quality carpeting can also range much higher, even up to $20 per square foot.

When it comes to flooring installers, licensing laws vary from state to state. Even if your state doesn’t require your flooring installer to have a license, your municipality or city might, so it’s a good idea to check with your town before getting started. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local general contractor guidelines.

Hiring an unlicensed flooring installer could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

The best underlayment for carpet on concrete is a sponge rubber underlayment. This type of carpet padding is durable enough to endure wear and tear on hard concrete yet soft enough to provide comfort underfoot. It also creates insulation from sound and temperature, providing warmth despite the concrete’s cold surface.

Carpet tiles come with a preexisting adhesive backing, which means installing them is as simple as peeling off the paper and sticking them down where they need to go. In other words, no. You won’t need to purchase any separate glue to get your carpet squares situated. It’s already built into the carpet tile itself.
