"I have used them several times over the last three years. It is a small business and I like dealing with small businesses. The people really know their stuff and are extremely polite. They show up when they say they will and do an excellent job with the carpets. They know their carpets and can usually tell somebody more about the carpet than they knew before the guys came. They get the work done on time and they re-deliver when I need or want them to; rather than when it is convenient for them. They are very pleasant and professional; the work is done right on their premises. If they don't answer their phone when I call I can leave a message and they call back within a couple of hours. They are very responsive as far as trying to meet my schedule for pickup and delivery. I feel like I am dealing with people who know what they are doing and I cannot beat the quality of their service; they do a beautiful job with the carpet. Their price depends on the size of the rug and whether it needs repairs; they deal a lot with antique Persian carpets and that sort of thing. My experience has been that their price is very reasonable. I have visited their plant because I want to see how they do things and they welcomed me to their facility; they are very honest."

"Excellent experience from sales to installation. Robert was personable and thorough and was able to accommodate our need for quick installation. The team that installed the flooring were professional and worked hard. They encountered unexpected problems, but got them resolved right away. Part of the floor had to be sanded to eliminate uneven spots and they quickly got it done. They pointed out a floor-installed elec. outlet that had been covered by carpet and advised how to make it safe, even bringing in their own electrical guy to rewire it. Even though they were not installing carpet, they brought in someone who worked with carpeting to deal with a peripheral carpet issue. There was no extra charge for these two people coming out to ensure everything was done perfectly. They did a great job. I would recommend this company and those installers to anyone."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, installing laminate over carpet could negatively affect the resale value of your home. It’s no surprise that homebuyers prefer flooring that someone has installed according to industry standards. Laminate over carpet may raise concerns about the quality and stability of the flooring, impacting the overall perceived value of the property.

Carpet glue is very sticky, but it's not permanent. The glue usually lasts as long as a typical carpet installation, which is five to 15 years. For the best results, you should always use the right type of carpet glue for the area you're using it in. There are carpet glues for high-traffic areas, which are more high-quality and durable than others.

A stair runner can be cheaper than a carpet and will definitely save money over the cost of refinishing hardwood floors and stairs. The price depends, however, on the fabric and quality of the runner. A wool stair runner can be more expensive than an inexpensive polyester carpet and vice versa. Keep an eye on your budget, knowing that the higher quality the carpet and the carpet pad, the better the carpet will wear over time.

Yes, you can put carpet directly on concrete. However, you need to take certain precautions to ensure the success of the carpet installation. For example, you’ll need to choose a synthetic carpet pad to provide insulation and cushioning and a vapor barrier to prevent moisture from seeping into the carpet.

While it is possible to install carpet yourself, it is a challenging DIY project that requires precise measurement, proper cutting skills, and knowledge of correct installation techniques. The process involves multiple steps, including removing old flooring, installing underlayment and tack strips, and stretching the carpet to prevent wrinkles, which can take several days to complete.

Before starting, consider these factors:

  • Warranty: Many manufacturers' warranties are voided if the carpet is not installed by a professional.

  • Tools: You will need to buy or rent specialized equipment like a knee kicker, carpet stretcher, and seam roller.

  • Complexity: DIY installation is most suitable for simple, straightforward rooms. Projects involving stairs or floor vents are significantly more difficult.

  • Cost: While you can save on labor, the cost of tools plus the risk of expensive mistakes—which may require re-installation—can make hiring a professional more cost-effective in the long run.

Given the potential for errors, voided warranties, and the need for special tools, hiring a local carpet installer is often recommended to ensure the job is done correctly and safely.
