"I got several quotes for trimming and/or removing a large Silver Maple in our backyard, and the quotes were way expensive for our budget. Parkway came in with a reasonable quote to trim both the Silver Maple and the Oak in our backyard. They did professional arborist work, excellent clean up/removing debris and they were the friendliest people I've met in the tree business! Hire Parkway! You won't regret it. They truly care for both trees and their customers!"

"Good is Good. Enough said. A great guy who does't waste time as the last (older) local man someone recommended. John is focused, purposeful and interested in the challenges certain jobs pose."

"We hired Sam's company to fill a sinkhole on our property. He responded promptly when we reached out, completed the work as expected, and charged a fair price. Since the repair, we’ve had no issues with the area where the sinkhole occurred."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The best way to protect tree roots is to avoid the roots entirely by excavating outside the root radius of the tree. For nearby projects, it’s a good idea to construct a temporary retaining wall. But that’s not always possible, depending on the project and the root system. In these cases, consider using alternative equipment like an auger to tunnel under the ground.

Remember, tree roots can damage nearby cement foundations as they grow. If a tree is close enough to interfere with large excavations, it may be better to remove the tree than risk future problems.

If you’re buying a small tree with lots of room to grow, expect to pay around $100 to $200 for a potted version. But if you’re buying a larger tree—say one over 10 feet—prices rise, starting in the $500 to $600 range and increasing quickly from there. Keep in mind that paying for professional palm tree planting or transplanting services will increase the cost.

Pruning can impact cold hardiness—but it’s less about the exact temperature and more about temperature variation. Generally, you don’t want to prune trees when there’s a risk of temperatures suddenly dropping from 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit to 0 degrees Fahrenheit or below. A tree is most sensitive until 48 hours after it’s pruned.

Generally, you’ll want to avoid pruning more than 25% of the tree’s canopy at one time. While pruning your tree is important, it’s possible to do it too often or to go too far. Again, this is why hiring a tree trimming pro to do the work is wise. However, if you do decide to DIY, going slow and trimming gradually is the name of the game.

If you ever want to see the literal fruits of your labor, you’ll need to prune your peach trees. Without pruning, the trees may not grow or bear fruit since the nutrients will be divided among too many offshoots to provide any with enough energy to produce the peaches. Plus, if parts of the peach tree become diseased or pest-ridden, pruning can nip those problems in the bud.
