"I got several quotes for trimming and/or removing a large Silver Maple in our backyard, and the quotes were way expensive for our budget. Parkway came in with a reasonable quote to trim both the Silver Maple and the Oak in our backyard. They did professional arborist work, excellent clean up/removing debris and they were the friendliest people I've met in the tree business! Hire Parkway! You won't regret it. They truly care for both trees and their customers!"

"Had a huge tree fall during a storm, breaking thru fence into neighbor's yard. Will and his crew did a great job of removing the tree and some additional cutting of other overgrown trees in the backyard. Special shout to Richard, who came back to do additional work I requested. Very pleased overall with their service. Will use again for sure."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

In Lancaster, permits are generally required for tree removal or major tree trimming on public property or for street trees, as outlined by the Lancaster Bureau of Parks and Public Property. If your property is within a historic district, approval from the Historical Architectural Review Board is also necessary. For work near utility lines, coordination with PPL Electric Utilities is required. Always check with the city's Department of Public Works before starting your tree service project.

Helpful?

In Lancaster, hiring a certified arborist ensures your tree removal or tree trimming is performed safely and in compliance with city regulations. Professionals have the right equipment and knowledge to protect your property and nearby structures. DIY tree service can be risky, especially near power lines or large trees, and may violate city codes if permits are overlooked. Always assess your experience and consult Lancaster authorities before proceeding.

Helpful?

After tree service in Lancaster, schedule annual inspections with a certified arborist to monitor tree health and structural safety. Regular tree trimming, mulching, and deep watering during dry periods are essential. The Lancaster Bureau of Parks and Public Property recommends seasonal tasks such as spring fertilization, summer pest inspections, fall leaf removal, and winter pruning. Consistent maintenance helps prevent disease and protects your property year-round.

Helpful?

In Lancaster, be wary of tree service contractors who offer unusually low quotes, request full payment upfront, or refuse to provide written estimates. Reliable professionals will show proof of insurance, outline the scope of work, and include cleanup in their quote. According to the Lancaster Bureau of Parks and Public Property, always verify licensing and ask for references. Pressure for immediate decisions or lack of transparency are warning signs.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Lancaster may encounter extra costs for permit applications, stump grinding, or specialized equipment if trees are hard to access. Additional expenses can arise if the tree service uncovers root damage, pest infestations, or requires utility coordination with PPL Electric Utilities. Damage to landscaping or the need for debris removal may also increase the project scope. Discuss all possible scenarios with your tree service provider and reference city guidelines.
