"It was a painless process from start to finish. I was lucky and Bob Ski was the salesman working the day I walked into the showroom and he allowed me to take home the sample board to decide on the carpet for my front porch. The installers were great. Two nice young very respectful guys that did a great job installing the carpet and everything was cleaned up before they left. Excellent experience and I will for sure be recommending and buying from Riverview Carpet and Bob in the near future."

Small jobs welcome

"The 2-man team arrived early in the 2 hour window, used teh wall-to-wall carpet stretcher tool, and completed the project with attention to detail, trimming off excess carpet.. It was revealed that the original carpet underlayment wasn't tacked down on one side of the rooms. We are satisfied with this service & would recommend the company."

"It was a freebie. It cost my $31 because I had a freebie thing. Their normal prices are not bad at all. They explained what they were going to do very well. The carpets looked wonderful afterwards. They actually took photographs of before and after. It was almost embarassing of how dirty the carpets were before. I felt they were very good."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Carpet tiles come with a preexisting adhesive backing, which means installing them is as simple as peeling off the paper and sticking them down where they need to go. In other words, no. You won’t need to purchase any separate glue to get your carpet squares situated. It’s already built into the carpet tile itself.

No, it works best under synthetic carpets in high-traffic or moisture-prone areas. Avoid using moisture barrier padding under natural fiber carpets like wool, which need air circulation. The barrier can trap the moisture against natural fibers and cause problems. Also, you can skip it in low-risk areas like upstairs guest bedrooms, where the extra protection often isn't worth the added cost.

If you have a dark carpet and are going for a lighter look, you should replace it, rather than dyeing, since you can only go darker with dye. If your stains are too heavy to mask with carpet dye or the carpet is more than 10 years old, you should also consider replacing it.

Acclimating laminate flooring cannot be rushed. Laminate flooring needs at least 48 hours to acclimate properly to its new environment, and being patient during this time can make installation go smoother because you will not be dealing with boards that have expanded or contracted during the shipping process. You will also be less likely to damage the boards during installation.

Taking carpet off stairs is an easy but multi-step process you can usually do yourself. If you have the right tools, time, and oomph to finish the job, removing carpet from stairs can be an easy-to-medium difficulty task, depending on your stairs, the type of carpet installed, and how willing you are to get your hands dirty. It’s important to review the process, gather the right tools before you begin, and follow a tutorial or directions while you work.
