"Our experience with Geno's Siding & Roofing Co. was great. Geno responded promptly, and scheduled a visit to look the job over. We had leaks around the windows in our laundry room. Geno advised the windows were fine, which we were glad to hear. He said he could remove the trim, and then install new aluminum casing around the windows. He also said he could install an aluminum sill sloped away from the windows. Russell (the technician) did a fantastic job. The result was better than I imagined it would look. We will definitely be contacting Geno when we need more work done."

"From the very first day, down to the end of the project, these guys are amazing!!!! Chris and Greg met with me several times, went over all the questions I had down to detail. There was no push to buy, like so many of the other window salesman. I felt they just wanted you to get exactly what you wanted, at a great price. Mildew grows into porous wood, making it more difficult to remove than regular dirt (and more destructive). We suggest using a dedicated mildew and mold fungicide to remove mildew, which is found in any local home improvement store. Apply a dose of the fungicide to the siding and leave to work according to the instructions, usually for an hour or two. Then wash it thoroughly away and scrub the spot again. Repeat the process if necessary. If nothing is removing the mildew stains, you should plan on removing those clapboard planks in time, as their damage could cause future problems.

Before applying paint to exterior surfaces, filling any cracks or gaps with caulk is essential. Sealing them with a combination of caulk and paint prevents moisture from damaging the paint or decaying the underlying material. You want to ensure the caulk you purchase can be painted over or that you opt for a caulk the same color as the paint.

Though vinyl siding is affordable, the material may not last as long or look as good as other siding materials. For example, wood siding has a beautiful, natural appearance but requires much more maintenance to keep your siding looking as good as new. 

Fiber cement siding is another alternative that mimics the appearance of wood siding. Like vinyl siding, fiber cement is a low-maintenance material, but it does come at a higher price and is heavier and more difficult to install.
