After several attempts to coordinate a meeting time I finally got my bid for the project.I had asked for the lawn to be levelled, grass laid down, the irrigation to be put in, a few trees, shrubery, and flowers. The irrigation system was installed first. The equipment was Rainbird which you can buy at Home Depot or Lowes. I can't complain too much, the system does work, but the valves in the ground are always full of water which leads me to believe there is a problem. But according to Jason that is the way they are supposed to be. (We never had water in the valves at our previous residence). Secondly, they were supposed to provide 12 yards of dirt to be laid down before they planted the grass. What I got was 2 piles of dirt on the back of their trailer, although I had to pay for 12 yards (a dump truck load). This was to cover my front yard. They laid the grass over rocks, branches, bottles, etc and never leveled the yard on the left side of the yard. Obviously there was not enough dirt to cover it. The grass was not growing well and there was holes throughout the yard. After several attempts Jason finally came back out and took a look. I had pulled the grass back in a couple of areas, and low and behold, no dirt had been put under the grass. I made them come back out and take the grass back up and I bought 12 yards of dirt (which was delivered by a dump truck) for them to put use, at my expense. I feel I did not get what I paid for here....The second problem is they dug out a lot of clay dirt to plant the shrubery and was supposed to put dirt in it to plant the bushes. Instead, they put the roots in the trench and covered them with mulch. The grass level is higher than the dirt, so no drainage. He tried to tell me it was the attempt by deer to eat the leaves that the plants died. But this is not true as the deer did eat most of those deer resistant leaves on other plants and they are doing well. After all of this rain most of one type of bush have died and Jason has yet to rectify the situation. I have made several attempts to remedy this and he has ignored my calls and emails. When he was doing this work he told me he did not buy his plants from places like Lowes because we never know where they come from and he only buys from reputable nurseries. Well I wonder why my shrubs are dying....Also, he kept asking for payment when the job was not completed. This job was sizable in monetary value and we feel we did not get what we paid for. I held the final payment until he came back and fixed the grass and repositioned the sprinkers and he told me he would wait for the last payment until I was satisfied with the job. After several more attempts and many more missed appointments, I finally gave up trying to get the job done the way I wanted it to be and paid him. Was it worth the money? Not even close. The grass has a ton of weeds in it and after several attempts to control it, we have finally given up. We will probably end up ripping it back out and replanting it again ourselves. Jason does not stand by his word and we will not be calling him to do our backyard as we had discussed in the beginning. Nor will we ever refer any business to him. Obviously he is too busy to give good customer service and work. I was not going to post a negative report for this provider, but since he has yet to fix the problem or return my calls, one was warranted.
Updated: Jason came back out after several calls to look at the problem. The rain gauge was inadvertantly not put on when the sprinkler system was installed, which caused extreme overwatering due to all the rain we had at the time. He replaced all the dead bushes and plants and then some which were on their way out. The matter was resolved at this time. I have revised my rating on them at this time and thank Jason for fixing my yard. I was very satisfied and looked forward to working with them. Unfortunately, the previous company I had hired (the one I hadn't heard from in two weeks) resurfaced and began work without telling me. They had me over a barrel, and I contacted John to explain the situation. Again, he was the ultimate professional. He understood my dilemma and understood why I couldn't hire him. He even went so far to send me an email to assure there were no hard feelings and if anything else came up he would be willing to work with me again. I have a few more landscaping projects to tackle in the coming months. The only company I will call is Linder. Lawn Irrigation reviews from real Angi homeowners in Glassport, PA
TruGreen came out to analyze our lawn and made valid suggestions to help with the amount of pervasive weeds that have built up over the years. It has taken a few visits to notice the difference, but our lawn is starting to look great!

FAQs for lawn irrigation projects in Glassport, PA
While watering your lawn by hand might save you money upfront, installing and using a lawn irrigation system does save you money over time. You are less likely to overwater your lawn with a professional irrigation system, which will cause a reduction in water usage. These systems use the right amount of water without waste. In addition, watering your lawn the correct amount will also help prevent different fungi from growing, saving you money in fungi removal costs.
Lawn irrigation is the process of getting water to your lawn, grass and all, for it to grow. There are five main types of lawn irrigation methods:
Manual irrigation puts you in charge of the flow of water. Using a sprinkler head on your hose is best to evenly distribute the water across your entire lawn. This doesn’t take much time but requires you to be physically outside holding the hose.
Above-ground sprinklers attach to your hose and rotate or oscillate around your lawn. Since these are above-ground, they’ll need to be moved when it’s time to mow, and depending on the size of your property, you might need to move it around your yard for full coverage.
In-ground sprinklers are flush with the ground when not in use but pop up above the ground level when it's time to water the lawn. Piping for these sprinklers is all found underground, and there are different types of sprinkler heads for different uses and lawn sizes.
Drip irrigation involves drip lines that are more efficient than sprinklers for more extensive lawns. This involves a lot of digging since they are installed underground, but it makes it easy for you to mow.
Rainwater collection and irrigation uses nature’s precipitation to water your lawn. This option might not be available in every area since semi-reliable rainfall is needed, though the barrels for this system can range from 15 gallons to 10,000 gallons or more.
Even though having a lawn irrigation system to water your lawn is efficient, you do not want to run it daily. It’s best to run your system two to three times a week. The length of time to run your system varies on factors like wind, temperature, and the variety of your grass, but 10 to 20 minutes each time is generally preferred. If you water too frequently, you’ll drown your grass and plants.
The cost of a lawn sprinkler system is $2,550 for the average homeowner. However, this price can range from $350 to $5,000 or more, depending on the type of sprinkler system you install, the size of your yard, and the type of sprinkler heads you choose. For example, rotating or oscillating sprinkler heads are more expensive than stationary ones, making the cost for one sprinkler head $2.50 to $30 each. Likewise, a yard that is 1/4 of an acre in size averages a total average price of $2,460; however, a one-acre yard averages a cost of $9,840.
The total time it takes to install a lawn irrigation system is roughly one to two days. This includes digging trenches for any necessary underground piping, placing the piping, wiring, sprinkler heads, and valves, and connecting your sprinkler system to your water supply. If you have a lawn larger than one acre, or if there are any municipality regulations that extend the project, you can expect the timeline to be closer to two days.
