Small jobs welcome

"Fabiano's team did an exceptional job replacing our stair railing - the result is beautiful, extremely well constructed and the experience was better than we could have hoped. The team was respectful and clean and the pricing was affordable. I will absolutely hire them again if projects arise and highly recommend them!"

"FABULOUS!! We hired Steve and his crew to paint the interior of my father-in-laws home to get it ready to sell. The house went from a 1970's pink and mauve nightmare to a hip and cool 2018 ready to sell home. They painted every room -kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom and two bedrooms and ceilings. Plus all the trim, doors, steps etc. The work was meticulous. We have had so many compliments and people cannot believe it is the same house!!! All done within a week at a very reasonable price. It was a pleasure working with Steve and Alvo and I plan on hiring them to paint the exterior and interior of my home. I am so lucky I found him and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a top notch professional painter. They were on time, very clean and did very precise work. We couldn't be happier! Absolutely Gorgeous Paint Job!!!"

"Finishing Touch Painting & Power Washing was very responsive and knowledge able. Previously we had stained our deck and wanted to use some of the newer deck paints. They were very helpful and knew which of the products worked well and which ones did not work so well. The extra prep work they did was excellent and our deck looks great. Best it has looked in years. They also painted all the exterior trim on our house and did a great job power washing. Everything looks very nice and we are pleased. The folks at Finishing Touch Painting & Power Washing were all very nice and I would use them again."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

If you have a smooth, already bonded concrete surface, painting a concrete pool deck can be a great way to brighten up the area and add longevity. If the surface has another covering or a different type of paint has been used previously, you won’t be able to paint it without removing the existing coating. Wooden decks benefit from painting as it helps to keep them watertight. Quality pool deck paints also help make the surface less slippery and less likely to gather mold and mildew or prematurely crack.

The need for a topcoat on a painted deck depends on various factors, primarily the type of paint used and your desired level of protection. Many premium deck paint formulations are self-sealing, eliminating the necessity for an additional topcoat. These paints often have built-in additives that substantially protect against moisture, UV rays, and everyday wear and tear.

Applying a sealer or topcoat after staining wood is highly recommended, though not always strictly required. A sealer protects the wood from moisture, UV rays, and weather-related issues, which is especially important for outdoor surfaces like decks and fences. It also enhances the stain's durability, prevents fading over time, and gives the wood a cleaner, more professional-looking finish. For some indoor applications, a sealer may not be necessary, depending on the type of stain used and the level of protection needed. It's always best to check the stain manufacturer's recommendations and consider the wood's intended use and exposure when deciding whether to apply a sealer.

Wood stain is typically dry to the touch within 6 to 12 hours, but it is not fully cured at this point. You should wait at least 24 hours before applying a second coat or a protective finish. For surfaces like decks, avoid walking on them for at least 24 to 48 hours, and wait even longer before placing furniture. The full curing process can take from 24 hours to one week, depending on the type of stain. Factors like high humidity and cold temperatures can extend drying and curing times, so it's wise to allow for extra time in these conditions.

Exterior paints contain more volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, making them dangerous when used indoors. Without the free ventilation of the great outdoors, it can take longer for the fumes to dissipate than interior paint. While you may notice the smell lessening more quickly, you should be wary of paint fumes inside for 48 to 72 hours after it dries.
